Skinlover, do you have oily skin? If you do, get the Factor A Plus and if you don't get just Factor A. I love the Factor A. It will give you the same results as Retin-A without the down time. However, I do use Retin-A 2 or 3 nights a week and the Factor-A in the A.M. and P.M.
Do you also have age spots on your face? I have them on my chest and that's where I use the lightening gel. I'll try to make this short and sweet. I used the Age Intervention Hands on my hands and arms to get rid of the age spots. Nope, didn't do it. I explained this to Christina today and I think the discoloration is down to the dermis as I've had them for years. She thinks that lasering is the only thing that will get rid of them. I do however have a Vascutouch machine and I think what I'll do is "scrape" the spots off and use the gel afterwards. I'll let you know if it works. The spots on my chest didn't go away either after using the lightening gel. The lightening gel is much gentler than the Age Intervention Hand Repair. I used the Hand Repair on my chest one day and broke out in bumps about 5 minutes later. They quickly went away but I never tried that again. LOL!!! |
Patty, that sounds painful, i.e. the scraping off the spots. Are you going to have to numb the area first? I just got a biopsy today on my arm, and oh my gosh, the derm poked a needle in the area he wanted to scrape my skin to numb it (or maybe he actually cut off a section of it, not sure). I fainted after that. I don't know if I'd be able to do this scraping myself. Please be careful. |

Did he make a guess as to what the spots are?
I will definitely numb the area. Remember also that I'm an R.N. so I have good drugs available. LOL!!! Just kidding. But I do have great topicals at hand. |

I used the Lightening Gel and it was one of the few JM products that I thought was worthless (the other was the tinted face protectant, which was strange because I loved her regular face protectant in the bottle except for that darn pump issue.)
I've used the:
Bioglycolic Lightening Gel
Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser
Bioglycolic Oily Skin Cleansing Gel
Bioglycolic Facial Lotion Rx
Bioglycolic Bioclear Lotion
Bioglycolic Acne Gel I
C-ESTA Serum Oil Control
C-ESTA Eye Repair Concentrate
Clean Zyme Papaya Cleanser
Skin Zyme Papaya Mask
Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30 TINTED
Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30 - BOTTLE
I didn't use all of these products at the same time!
The Bioglycolic Facial Lotion Rx is VERY strong but I have thick skin.
I really stopped using her products because of the pump bottle problems and the waste of product. I wrote to the company twice and they ignored my emails. I hate bad customer service. I was very respectful in my emails to them and I feel the courtesy of a reply, any reply, would have shown some good faith and gone a long way to keeping me as a consumer of her products. As much as I liked the products, I can not justify bad service because, ultimately, it reflects badly on the products themselves. |

Oh yes, right! I forgot you're an RN. My derm didn't seem to know what was causing my spots either. At least it made me feel better that I wasn't such an idiot. LOL He guessed that maybe b/c I got the ringworm, my skin was being overly reactive, but to what??? It's just too weird. My skin surely is sensitive.
Please let us know how it goes with your treatments. |

Yes, I agree with you about the Bioclear Cream. The cream and the lightening gel hopefully will work. If it doesn't, don't hesitate to return it to the person who sold it to you as JM guarantees their products. I certainly want my clients to bring back products that don't do what they say they will do.
Good luck sweetie and try to remember to let us know how it works for you. |
Thanks Patty, i have just ordered the lightening gel and from EDS, hopefully it will works for me |

The pump bottle issue is being addressed. I spoke to the rep about that yesterday.
Always call their toll free number with complaints since the emails didn't get a response. But the best thing to do is take the products back to your skin care specialist.
Why didn't the sun screen work for you? I use the tinted sun screen everyday and love it.
Thanks so much for your feed back. |

I used the Bioclear Lotion and Cream, liked the Cream better since the Lotion was a bit too strong. But after a while my skin got used to it so the effect didn't last. I also tried a lot of their products, and particularly like the transformation Lotion, Sunscreen, C-esta cleanser and mask. |

I just started using the Bioclear cream, thanks to all of your recommendations, and I really like it a lot. It's still early to tell what the long term results will be, but I have very sensitive skin (although it tends to hold up to AHAs well), and apart from a tad bit of stinging when first applied, I've had no irritation.
I'm going to work in the Bioglycolic cleanser & just purchased the Transformation cream so I'm anxious to try that as well. |

I've been using Bioclear lotion for more than a week now and I have to say I'm really loving it. First of all I feel NO tingle at all and I apply a nice thick layer all over my face. Secondly it works WAY better for me than my ISC Active which I have been using for over 6 months. Bioclear has done more in keeping my skin clean in a week than ISC has in six months! This is going to be my staple from now on not to mention it's WAY cheaper than ISC Active. |

Sormuimui, how many times a day/week have you been using this and are you putting anything on top of it? TIA |

I use it everyday in the PM, but my skin isn't sensitive at all. Most products which people tingle/sting with (this one, ISC Active, Osea Mud) I don't feel a thing. I use PSF Berry Beneficial over it because that's what I use as HA in my PM routine. I also find that Berry Beneficial gives me is more hydrating and soothing than regular HA which I use in the AM.

I just ordered the cream -- is it ok to use in the morning? I use tazorac at night and I don't want to make my skin angry. I used it this morning and no any irritation so far...but I have never used AHA's and I know there's some rules for them. |

Hi waffle,
I've never used the cream but i know the lotion is very strong. I wouldn't use it in the morning. I would also let a nights break in between using the acid and the tazorac. |

I just wanted to chime in to report that I am LOVING this cream! I'm just using it in the evening and I still get a bit of a sting when I first apply it, but my skin feels so smooth and I haven't developed one pimple since I started using it. I know it's still early, but I haven't gone more than a few days in a row without getting any new spots in a few years...one usually pops up every few days, so this is definitely a record.
I'm also using the Bioglycolic cleanser (although I learned that once per day is just enough - twice was too much), and my Transformation Cream just arrived today, so I'm excited to try that.
I thought this was interesting - a link to the JM site which explains the suggested JM regimen for mild to moderate acne. I think you'd have to work up to using all the products, but thought it was helpful info. http://www.janmarini.com/skincare_mild_acne.html
Thanks for all your recommendations for this product! |

ok guys, help me figure out how to work in my favorite products --
right now I use tazorac short contact therapy -- I've been using it for two years so my skin is used to it and I do not get irritation. I generally only leave it on 5 minutes and wash off. In the morning I use dermalogica microfoliant.
I don't know if I should only use the bioclear on alternate days, trading off with the microfoliant, or if I should use the bioclear during the day and the microfoliant at night...
so far my skin is tolerating the bioclear just fine -- just a tingle, no redness or flakies. |

Hi Waffle,
How often are you currently using the Bioclear? If you're already using it every other day and it's working well, you could try to use it every day and see how that works. Otherwise, I think I'd try to alternate the Microfoliant as you suggested and then try to work up to using the Bioclear every day if you're still not getting any irritation.
Good luck! |

Thank you for the review. Does anyone know how this compares with IS clinical serums? |
For me, this seems more effective or at the least the same. In fact while I liked the vitamin serums from ISC, I wasn't impresed with their Active Serum at all - not for that price. |
Does anyone else have experience with these two products (IS active vs. Jane Marini Clear)? I am trying to decide which to buy.. How about the IS vs Jane marini cleansers too? |

Please refer to my post that is about 7 posts above yours. For ma Jan Marini bioclear works much better as I find it is stronger (although the glycolic and salicylic are in same percentages, JM has azelaic and possibly a lower pH even though I've never tested ISC Active for pH). |
