A few weeks ago, I ended up with a lot of skin problems, due to using MD Formulations and Glycolic Peels. After having used these products for around 2 months, having 4 glycolic peels (one a week), I found that my skin was not getting any better (in fact it got worse). With the advise of a lot of very nice ladies on this forum,I decided to simplify things and decided to go back to using Dermalogica. Anyway, I have now got my routine sorted out, and for the first time, in a very long time, my skin has finally settled down and is starting to look really good. Previous to using MD Formulations, I had infact been using all sorts of different skincare lines, as well as Dermalogica, but I think that I never really gave my skin a chance to get used to anything and if it felt dry I would use things for dry skin (and then end up all greasy and spotty) and if it got too oily I would use things that were maybe too aggressive. My routine now consits of all Dermalogica
AM
Special Cleansing Gel
Daily Microfoliant
Multi-Active Toner
Active Moist Moisturiser
Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser
PM
Pre-cleanse
Dermal Clay Cleanser
Multi-Active Toner
Oil Control Lotion
Once a week I use the skin prep scrub and the refining mask, and three times a week I use the oil-free hydrating mask.
This routine has unclogged my pores and kept my skin fresh and smooth.
I still think that MD Formulations is a good line, but just not for me. I had also been using Jane Iredale Pressed Foundation, but found that even on my oily skin this was way too drying and after having read the great reviews on Laura Mercier Oil-free Tinted Moisturiser, decided to give this a try, and am very glad I did.
So, if there are any girls out there who have skin like mine was (oily/clogged and sensitive), I would be only too happy to recommend this routine to you. |

Thank you for all your responses. I would also like to add that this routine was not easy to find. It has been a lot of trial and error, but after much advise and feedback, as well as research on this forum, I think I am finally begining to understand my skin. I don't stick to this routine strictly, it is just the basis of it. I have begun to realise that since the weather has taken a turn for the colder, my skin has also started to produce less oil and so when it does feel dryer, I am only using microfoliant every other day and also using active moist both day and night (or oil-free hydrating mask overnight) if it is feeling a bit dehydrated. I actually didn't realise that a lot of my clogged pores was due to overdrying my skin, until I received all the great information from everyone here on this forum. I also went for a facial on Thursday and my facialist was even surprised at how well my skin looks, so yes, I am very delighted and hope that with all the information I have gained from researching this formum that my skin will continue to behave. |

Yaaay Sharon! I was thinking about you the other day (since I hadn't seen any posts from you) and was wondering how things were going with your skin.
I'm SO glad you found the products that work for you!
