My skin reacts to Tazarac in an unusual way. This has happened time and time again so i know its not a coincidence. I'll put this on my face everyday for about a week. I notice the skin around my mouth getting reddish so I stop for a few days. 3rd day comes around, the skin gets worse even though I didn't put any new product.
I tried to treat the crust around my lip area with Super Cop2x and Emu oil. The green stuff congregates at my lip and the consistency is weird. I just tried to shave the crust off gently. I don't know what to do. |

I'd stop using it and return to the dermatolgist for advice. Forget about mixing it with anything because it is medication after all. I understand its for acne? |

Sounds like you're starting too fast.......you should either buffer or use twice a week till your skin gets used to it |

You need to build up a tolerance with retinol products. Maybe one application every 3-4 days to start and then gradually increase from there.
I would skip the Supercop and just stick to emu oil for a while. |

I agree, and I would also defintely not try to remoce it with a blade. Just keep it hydrated and don't apply taz to the area. |

Thank you so very much for the replies. The emu oil really helped sooth things out. When I first posted, the crust/scab at the corner of my mouth was so bad, it hurt to open my mouth! |

Been there, done that! You know it's overdone when you can't even smile without pain. Honestly the best thing to do is just back off on application. Ease into it. No need to be in a hurry.

angelina--- this has happened to me quite a bit! It will definitely help if you buffer your taz with your moisturizer--- apply your moisturizer first, then your taz. Also make sure you are also using only the tiniest pea-size amount of taz for your whole face. I would also def. recommend EpidermxII--- it works really well with the taz to get rid of the flakies, etc. HTH! |
