i was wondering how the different natural concealers rate - i'm looking for something to lighten up under my eyes a bit, and also to help cover blemishes (without clogging my pores and making them worse!). i know dr. hauschka makes a liquid and stick concealer, and i think jurlique makes a toned blemish cream (although i don't think this would be good for under the eyes). any other suggestions? |

I use the Dr. Hauschka cover stick and find that it works very well at covering and helping to heal blemishes. It's the first concealer that I've used that seems to soothe the affected area and make the skin heal a bit faster. |

If you want to lighten up the undereye area a bit but want to stay away from a noticeably concealed look, you might want to try one of those sheer semi-concealers with the strong light-reflective properties...Laura Mercier has a great one called Secret Brightener....Yves St. Laurent's touche eclat is extremely popular as well. You can also dissuade the look of darkness around the eyes by steering away from using liner under your lower lashes and by not using mascara on your lower lashes as well....

thanks - i'm actually far too lazy with makeup to bother with liner, and since i have long lashes, i usually just wear a fairly natural mascara on my upper lashes and only a bit on the bottom outer corner. i think i'd prefer to stay away from conventional cosmetic brands and stick to natural/organic products though, so as not to counteract the healing effects of my skincare regime (zenbiotic, dr. h, yonka, acqua vita, best bath store, etc.) |

I'm using JI's Disappear and it's HG for me for covering blemishes and acne marks. However you'd probably want something lighter for your undereyes, I know they make a separate concealer for that, not sure how good it is though. |

Another vote here for Dr H's cover stick. I've been using it and loving it for years. Their cream concealer is also a top pick but I prefer the cover stick most. |

I know you all may not agree, but for me, I love ID BE Summer Bisque as a conceal;er under the eyes and also over blemishes. I can use this stuff with or without foundation. Some days, when I am fortunate to go bare, I can just cover a few blemishes with the Summer Bisque and concelaer brush and look very fresh and bare. I love it! It is also SPF 30. |

do you use a concealer brush with the cover stick or just fingers (both for undereyes and blemishes)? |

I used UGloGirl concealer in Buttercup, they also do White and Lavender, it was a really nice undereye highlighter, definitely not for the whole face. It is pretty natural, made from oils and zinc oxides for colouring. |

Mary Kay used to make a Triple Action eye Enhancer that may be good for brightening. It's great for shadow priming! But I think it's called something else now. |

Hi
Just a thought for every one who uses cosmetics.
Please read your labels. I know the pretty colours & packaging look tempting and seduce us into buying them but 99.9% of cosmetics & skin & body products are a chemical cocktail and nothing more than a chemical factory in a pretty bottle or tube. The cosmetics industry is largely unregulated and most manufacturers can put in what ever they like... and they do !!
For example.... Did you know that a product that contains lavender is actually a tea bag dipped in a vat of the petrochemical propyline glycol...that bleached creamy stuff that glides on our skin ! YUUUK ! The manufacturer can now claim it has a natural ingredient in their $8.oo or $150 moisturiser...believe me there is no difference in brands.... ohh except the pricey packaging which is what you are really paying for that get thrown away anyway! Most of the time you DO NOT get what you pay for !!!
If the first ingredient happens to be 'water' then that's what you are mainly paying for and of course the complimentary dose of chemicals and synthetic perfumes that follow the water.
Ladies & Gentlemen you have to start being savvy about ingredients. Many consumers are demanding healthy skin care products today. Remember... your skin is your bodies largest organ and what you apply on it gets absorbed into your body.
We have enormous power with our purchases. Invest your money in companies that do make cosmetics & skin products that are healthy for you and the environment. |

I'm getting Jane Iredale with my next order, haven't used it before but the ingredients sound pretty good. Otherwise I would have to agree with the Dr H one. |

I found the Dr. H. Cover Stick in the #1 color on sale 25% off at the Dr. H. website and just tried it out today - so far so good! Great color match and went on nice and easy from the lipstick-like tube applicator (just used my finger a bit to pat in). Can't wait to keep using this (although I guess I'd rather not have a reason to ) and will update later! |

When I need extra coverage, I use a taklon concealer brush and use a bit more of my mineral foundation to cover. |

I do exactly the same -- to cover undereye darkness areas and blemishes. When I don't need such heavier coverage for these areas I just use a natural hair eyeshadow brush as my concealer brush. |

I just purchased and received Paula's choice concealer for dry skin and it goes on so smooth. I have some acne and it covers them up...i use it under my eyes too because i have blue circles. Works wonders. |
