Hi Marcia - it is "supposed" to be winter where I am (Ottawa, Ontario Canada) but you'd never know it.....there was NO snow on Christmas day and right now there is barely a dusting of the white stuff on our streets...It has been unseasonably warm for the month of December...by now we usually have pretty regular snowfalls...not this year....the changing weather patterns are something else...I can't predict our weather from one day to the next!

I agree ... things are changing alot! I remember when I was a kid and I lived in the country, we'd get HUGE dumps of snow in the winter. And now, it seems each year we get less and less (which is fine by me as I'm not a "winter" person, but bad for the farmers and whatnot). We had a green Christmas this year too, although yesterday it did start snowing again and I woke up to a few inches on the ground. It just keeps getting stranger and stranger it seems. |

Moonstar - I see you are in Calgary - Chinook land!!! The last time I was in Calgary the weather changed dramatically inside of, like, fifteen minutes!!! You guys have wildly fluctuating weather (great city, though!!!)

Yes, I LOOOOVE the chinooks ... makes getting through the winter not so bad. And yes, the weather can change on a dime. Like one day it will be -20 and the next day a chinook comes in and it's +5! But I'll take that over having it stay cold constantly. |

It hardly gets cold here in winter anymore. I'm not a big fan of winter, but it was 72 degrees F here two days before Christmas. I can remember being a kid and wearing a heavy coat at Halloween! |

I'm in Canada too, (the prairies) and our last few winters have been more like spring. Seems they're getting warmer and warmer. Last winter was the warmest on record in Canada, pretty much for the entire country. Strange. |

on new years night it rained - its always sunny, so of course we go to the beach for surfing and relaxing - its cold and wet.....
We are lucky here its cold over winter but the only snow we get is on the mountain - nothing compared with you guys. It must be nice to have a winter wonderland around xmas with snow flakes and snow ball fights |

I wish it were summertime here!
That said we've had very warm weather. It is usually 30's and 40's in January but it's been in the 50's and 60's one day actually nearly hit 70! |
