Living in Florida, everthing seems to melt off your face! My most recent trial is with Smashbox liner that you apply with a brush. Any tips to make the eyeliner stay/set?

I recently bought (a few months back) Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in Smokey Brown. I wear it nearly every day ... I love it! It really seems to stay put too. It's supposed to be transfer-resistant and I really don't find it smudges much at all throughout the day.
Or, I'd also had Bobbi Brown's Gel Eyeliner which also seemed to stay put. I just like using a pencil better though (rather than the liner brush). |

I have been using Bare Escentuals loose mineral eye liner powder for a while now and with the correct brush it is so easy to apply.
I do recomend you invest in Urban Decay's Primer Potion so that your eye liner does not smudge.
I also ike to go over mine with a little eye shadow just to set it in place. |

I agree with the Bobbi Brown eyeliner gel. I know with pencil my make up tends to smudge. |

I have quite oily undereyes, and had a very hard time finding liners that stay put. Revlon ColorStay (in charcoal) is the only one that doesn't run or smudge on me. I can wear it all day with no problem, and it's cheap too! I love this one! |

Before applying any liner, use a strong eyeshadow primer, ie. Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Styli-style makes a semi-permanent eyeliner pencil that seriously will NOT budge. I drew a line on the back of my hand & it lasted ALL day, even through washing & scrubbing. The only downfalls are that the pencil is not as supple as others, so it doesn't draw as smoothly. Also, it is VERY difficult to take off. Other than that, it will definitely last you all day. Most drug stores carry Styli-style.
A more high end waterproof eyeliner pencil is by Makeup Forever. It is sold at Sephora & is usually out of stock. This also works very well. It is easier to work with than the Styli-style, but the Styli-style is more budge proof.
I've tried the gel liners, ie. mac & bobbi brown, but they did not stay put for me. The above two liners did a better job as far as staying power & no racoon eyes.
Also, if you really want to insure that your eyeliner doesn't budge, after lining with the pencil, line on top of that w/an eyeliner brush & black shadow.
Another trick is to use black shadow & dip into visine or contact solution - they act as sort of a primer. Benefit also has a product called she-laq that does exactly what it says. You put it on top of the eyeliner to hold it in place. |

I use a liquid liner sealer. Dip your your liner brush in the sealer, then dip into a power eye shadow and apply. I thought it was Benefit, but I don't see it when I scope out Sephora.com. It may have been replaced by the She Lac product.
I also have the Bare Essentials Weather Everything Liner Sealer. I've only used it a few times, since I wanted to use the Benefit product. I always have liner at the end of the day, unless I cry. |

i don't wear eyeliner that much any more, but recently got one by By Terry as part of a set. i hate it because i seem to have to scrub to remove it (i don't own any special eye make-up remover at the moment) and i'm trying to baby my lashes whilst they grow out. but if you're looking for a bomb-proof liner, i'd highly recommend this. it stays and stays and stays... with nary a smudge. |

I agree with the positive comments regarding Bobbi Brown and Urban Decay Primer. Both had numerous excellent reviews on MUA. |

I live in hot and humid Hawaii and I use either my Mac gel liner followed by a little powder in the same color or my Mac waterproof eyeliner pencil. It just depends on whether I want a more dramatic look (gel liner) or not (pencil). Both stay on very well. |

I have quite an enormous collection of pencil/pen type eyeliners from my quest for the one that will not smudge and make me look like a racoon mid-day.
Finally broke down and got MAC Fluidline gel w/an eyeliner brush (skinny one from Sephora) based upon other raves I'd read on this board.I was scared of gel eyeliners, thinking I wouldn't get the hang of them or that they'd be too dramatic like the liquids I had tried.
First I dust a tiny bit of loose powder under my eyes, then apply the gel liner with the brush (not hard to get the hang of). It does not smudge or smear - honest. It does require makeup remover to get it off now. |

Ditto, but I am not using Bobbi Brown right now, but I think if I lived in Florida, I would be using gel eyeliners. |

My eyeliner stays on forever.
I use a Sharpie marker...
Just kidding! As mentioned, Benefit she-laq and the Make Up For Ever liner seem to work pretty well. |

I also use Urban Decay Eye Primer and it works. I also use Makeup For Ever's eyeliner and it stays on all day. My eyes get oily by the end of the day and these help keep my make-up fresh. It used to slide off before I used the primer. |

My favorite eyeliner is my permanent eye liner. It is wonderful to wake up in the morning, and "have eyes!" I had it done fairly lightly, so for daytime, I often go over it with my Lancome eye liner pencil. It stays on well, and the pencil lasts for years. |

MAC Fluidline absolutely stays put - but it can be difficult to remove afterwards. |

i find that can never get any eyeliner, be it pencil, cake or gel to keep from being smudged under my eyes. benefit she-laq (a sealant) was recommended to me but it's not something i want to use everyday (the smell was quite strong).
but applying powder eyeshadow with a wet liner brush used to line my bottom eyes has been working wonderfully for me. for the first time ever i have had very little smudging or none at all.
also, make sure that your day eye cream isn't too oily. |

Try gel liners like the ones from Bobbi Brown and MAC. They have excellent lasting power.
You can also try using a primer on your lids (like Urban Decay's Primer Potion) before you line your eyes, to help it stick on. |

The best smudge-proof, longwearing eyeliner I've ever used is Revlon Colorstay, and I've tried every pencil there is. If you're having problems, take a q-tip and dab it in powder, pressed or loose, and run it around the rim of your eye BEFORE you put on the liner. That really helps to keep the liner in place. Good luck! |
