Hi everyone. I have been trying to find out some information on the internet and i just don't know who to trust so i was hoping one of you kind people can help me out. I am a 24 year old male who has a facial scar on his forhead. Its about 1/2 inch long. I have been so depressed about it that i just cry out on the inside when i think about it. I don't know what to do. I am trying to look for a doctor that can evaluate me and see what i can do. I am living in the Bay Area, California. Please if you have any recomendations or maybe an similiar experience/situation then please post and let me know. It would make a world of a difference to me. Thank you. |

Hey moviebuff!
Sounds exactly like the scar on my other half's forehead (he's had it for about a year and it's proof that alcohol is BAD for you! ). Good news is that they fade quite significantly, his is almost invisible now. I made him apply vitamin E oil on it all the time That's what my surgeon told me to do to my scar after I had surgery.... It works well for fresh scars but there's things you can use on older scars as well.
Is the scar fairly new or have you had it for a while? |

Yep, my mother's plastic surgeon (not from vanity but due to a skin cancer op.) told her that pure vit E cream or breaking open Vit E oil capsules on a new scar helps (and it does).
You could also try a product called Bio Oil (an Australian product) which is very helpful. It is really lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. Here is a link for info about the product: http://www.bio-oil.info/whats_it_used_for.html
It can be purchased online from Australia and is not expensive at all (about AU$15/US$10) and if you are having it shipped outside Australia it is GST (which is 10%) and the shipping is at cost. The link for buying it online is http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=1608 |
