if body, can choose a higher AHA %, e.g. Neostrata AHA 15 Gel
if on face, then choose a milder AHA products
e.g. Skinceuticals C+AHA or Gly Derm |

Yeah, go for products with higher concentrations of Glycolic Acids (AHA) in them. You could also give Dermalogica Microfoliant a go (brightening, even-out type of exfoliant) but the AHA products will be more powerful (but shouldn't be too harsh). Ming's recommendation of Vit C is fab too - it should help fade the scars (make sure you moisturise well and wear sunblock when using these products). |

Alatsh , if your problems are skin discolorations caused by past acne problems, try Godiva Licorice Cream and Godiva Fruit Acid Complex. These creams used with lemon juice will fade your acne blemishes very quickly. I believe you can order them fromwww.naturefina.com ,www.-godiva.com orwww.godivaskincare.com . |

I have just purchased an AHA booster that seems pretty strong for the face. According to this thread it seems that if I keep using this my spots from my spots will fade.
I hope that works and happy that i might not have to buy additional products.
I'll keep ya posted. |

Check out Emu oil, its good for acne scars, arthritis etc. Make sure your not allergic to poultry though. I should do a search on the web to get some more information about it before you buy any - its quite cheap. |

Hi,
I hope I can find some help here!
The scares left behind from black heads and just letting the acne go away it self on the whole T-zone area, especially the nose area! And yes I do have large open pores on cheeks and chin and around my mouth. I was told when I was younger that they would go away, well I'm in my early forty’s and they seem to be getting larger. Yes I have tried just about every thing including laser treatment and the scares are still with me. I hesitate to see a plastic surgeon because of $$$. The problems with my skin are visible,(Fair Skin) I have been using a product called Aloette, I have notice using the vitamin C accelerator has helped a bit. Any other’s with the same condition and what info can you send me. Thank you. |

I tried godiva skin care regime. I was very disappointed because it not as what the claim (especially the leg scar eraser set). It's all hoax. I stop buying godiva skincare product. |

RoseAnn - Have you tried products with med/high Glycolic Acid concentrations? E.g. something like the MD Formulations cleanser, lotion or facial cream for example? These should help with fading scars and keep your skin nice and smooth.

How bad is the scarring? I have marks on my shoulders which I know only a laser could blast off so till I get brave and get some cash I live with pitted and uneven skin.
Decleor Prolegene gel (hope I spelt that right) is reported to be very good for acne /pregnancy scars. It make take some time to effect though.
Glycolic is one way to go the other is massage with an essential oil based product (I'm now a full yonka fan) massage will help the blood supply and the E.O can have a great effect on skin.
Lots of choices |

That is true... I am not sure if all Godiva products stand up to the claims made by Godiva, esp. for problems such as freckles. However, I can definitely say that Godiva Licorice Cream with Godiva Fruit Acid Complex works to fade acne blemishes. I had personally tried it and these creams had faded all of my acne skin discolorations within less than 2 weeks. I also had many of my friends try it for their acne problems and they also love the results they are getting. |

I do continue to wash daily and eve. I mask and moisturize too (For over 40 Years).
I was hoping to find out if any one had the same open pore problem as my self. What really upsets me is my nose has all these open pores and it’s starting to look like an orange rind (I do have oily skin). I was wondering if I would have to have some kind of surgery for it or if it’s even possible to fix. Also the reason why I ask, I see my oldest daughter having the same problems as I do.
Thank you. |

RoseAnn,
Did your doc ever recommend Retin-A? It is very good for shrinking pores (basically retexturizing your skin overall). It can also help, over time, to fade your scars out. I find that vit. C has been most helpful with any hyperpigmentation I have had (for long term use). But I do think some of the glycolic peels out there give you a nice head start on fading away brown spots. I think we all can see our pores getting larger as we get older...so you aren't alone. Masking and moisturizing every night? What do you use for that? |

I'll have to agree with betterat40. Retin-A is great for what you are looking for. Retin-A Micro is even better. You can use a higher concentration than you can with the old retin-a get and it is less irritating. It is something to ask your doc about.

Thank you better@40 & abejita.
Yes I do feel your right about the pores: they do get larger with age, boy that sucks: oh well... I thank both of you for your advise on the retina-a. I'll try that. I have been using a product called Aloette, and have been happy with the results, I have notice the age spots gone, I mean all gone. Also the time restore firming serum and Vita-C Accelerator has firmed up my face so much, that now I can see my cheek bones. Oh and the wrinkles around the eye area, Well almost visible
I still have the problem with my nose area and around the mouth (small to med holes).
I ride a motorcycle here in California being exposed to the sun and looking in the mirror seeing the pores open kills me!!. I do use #50 sun block under my powder foundation. I stopped using liquid, since I found bare minerals (A God sent product) face powder. That has controlled the oil that just would poor out of my pores. |
