I am looking to complete my holiday skin care plans, but need some suggestions if anyone has any for an oil free, fragrance free makeup base (to wear under foundation) for the evenings. My skin is oily, and I will be using physical sunscreen during the day (cant use anything else!) but dont want to use anything too heavy under makeup for the evenings. I cant wear foundation alone, it doesnt work...so maybe a primer would be best thing to help control oiliness? |

For a wonderful velvety feel - pure silicone base - try SmashBox PhotoFinish. It creates the most wonderful base to put foundation over... |

I did search for the sothys product, it was quite hard to find and i am not sure i can get in shipped to uk. Margarita, is there a lot of sparkle in it? I am 41 so cant take anything too sparkly, dont want to draw attention to fine lines. Is the smashbox product suitable for mature skin? I never suffer from dryness, but do have some open pores and my t zone shines so much especially when its hot. |

Hi Lee,
How about Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel? It's a light moisturising gel. It does have a scent but I think that derives from the fact that it's made from natural ingredients. I haven't used it for any extended period of time but used a sample about a month ago and quite liked it.
I also like Valmont Bio Cellular ( ). |

Lee,
The Smashbox will be wonderful for you. It has no shine. Velvety-finish. I wear sometimes with nothing else just to soften and mattify my skin. It really is amazing stuff. I'm sure if you ask at any make-up counter that has it (Nordstrom is where I got mine), they will make you a sample. |

Since Mabsy and I seem to run the Bio Cellular fan club I figured I better jump in and double that recommendation.
It is an expensive item but worth every single cent you pay. It is a nice light serum that is absorbed in moments and gives a lovely dewy, velvety texture to the skin within a week. It is substantial enough to actually use as a moisturizer in hot climates or on skin that is not too dry. The size they sell here on EDS is good value though.. a nice 50ml size! |

Now I have so many things to choose from! The valmont bio-cellular sounds interesting, but while looking also saw the daily balance serum, which also sounds good, has anyone tried that? |

Update! Have ordered some Peter Thomas Roth aha body lotion and DDF organic sunblock, and have asked for sample of the Valmont daily balance (and cellmosmet eye contour cream too!) so will keep fingers crossed samples are available. |

Lee - make sure you tell us what you think of them - I'm such a sucker for other people's reviews I'd love to hear your comments on the Cellcosmet eye cream too. I it!
Tiger_Tim - I think the 50mL size might be a typo. Best check with EDS before you order, I think the Bio Cellular only comes in 30mL.
