A good sunscreen, healthy eating, lots of water and as much laughter as possible.

I wish my mum had gotten me into washing my face right before I hit puberty. I'm not so sure 8 years old is when I would have started but I WISH my mum had stressed the importance of sunscreen. They say it takes only one or two bad burns to affect your skin health and I had that...
I say it's never to early for sunscreen...but actual skincare...I'd say in the early teens. Besides, it makes you feel more grownup!!! |

I'd just have her wash with a warm washcloth nuked in the microwave & definitely have her start with the sunscreen. I think anything else may damage her beautiful peaches n cream natural youthful glow. |

Yes definitely sunscreen and a good non striping cleanser to remove the residue of a night. Good on you for starting her early, thats what I will be doing when I have children. |

A gentle cleanser, sunscreen, and see if you can get her in the habit of wearing a hat when it's sunny. |

I would agree with you and others who said the same. I would suggest...
Cetaphil
if you can, Skinceuticals UV Defense SPF 30 (all year long)
my mother let me wear a very sheer lip gloss on special occasions - lip balm in the winter
and you may have to buy stuff to protect her skin when she goes swimming or taking balley or Karate lessons.
My ballet teacher introduced to my class about perfume & deoderants. She taught us the art of applying perfume, when can we wear it at our age and the importance not to stink with body odor or too much perfume. |

I second the Cetaphil if you want to use something other than just plain warm water. It's a very gentle cleanser recommended by most dermatologists. I think you could also have her use an oil based cleanser, since they're also gentle & don't contain any harsh chemicals. I forgot that you may need something a bit more robust than water to get the sunscreen off at night. |
