I can't think of any reason why it would. The otc product that is generally recommended for scar reduction is Mederma. I've never used it myself, but I know people who have. If you're diligent with it, it apparently does work. If the scar or is a new one, the Mederma apparently can virtually erase it. I think dealing with older scar tissue is somewhat harder.

Absolutely not. Hydrocortisone is anti-inflammatory (which means that it helps with inflammation), and anti-pruritic (which means it's good for itching), so while it's good for helping to bring down initial inflammation, it won't do anything for scars. On the contrary, I've read that long-term use of hydrocortisone cream actually impairs collagen synthesis, so if you used it on your scars ongoing you'd actually be doing more harm than good. I've been dealing with scars a lot in the past few months, and in my opinion the two things that will help the most are a good exfoliant, and a serum that will help your skin rebuild itself. I've been using EpidermxII (a microdermabrasion scrub), followed by Chrysalyx, which is a moisturizer that contains peptides and other healing ingredients to repair your skin--- you can find both atwww.greatnewskin.com. HTH!

Long term use of hydrocortisone is not recommended, also it doesn't do anything for scars. It's for irritation, redness, etc.
