I am having a difficult time finding a sunscreen that I can use everyday.
I am acne-prone and most sunscreens make me break out. If I don't break out, then they interfere with the application of my mineral makeup.
I'd welcome any suggestions. Thank you! |

Hi tam. I am acne prone & use Sofina Nuance Up. It dries to a matte finish, which is a perfect canvas for my mmu application afterwards. Other ss's would be too greasy/sticky & I'd have to wait a while before I could apply my mmu, not the case with Sofina. You can order online from bobodave |

I am thinking about purchasing colorescience product -- either the sunforgettable or the foundation. Not sure but they both have an spf of 20-30. |

tam, candy sells face cream and she said she could add SPF to anything pretty much. You might want to check out her products. |

Thank you Leidon! Sofina sounds like exactly what I am looking for. I ordered it from bobodave and can't wait to receive it. I have high hopes that this will end my search for a sunscreen. |

Hi tam. Sofina is my hg & is the very first beauty product to which I'm ending my search for. So no more sampling sunscreen's for me. Woohoo... at least there's one thing off of my list. But, I also wanted to mention that I read recently on the board about PPD sun protection? I think that's what it's called. Anywho, apparently the PPD isn't that high, but shouldn't be a problem unless you're expecting to spend an extended amount of time in the sun. So, what I do is just wear mineral mu over the Sofina to make sure I'm fully covered. I think you're wearing mmu anyway, but just thought I'd mention it. |

Sophina Nuance and Anthelios are my staples. |

my sister has oily skin and she lives in TX and she is using Clarins SPF40 daily and it's not greasy for her at all.
Try it... You probably can get some sample from the counter. |

I do use mineral makeup, so I think that I have it covered. I am so tired of looking for sunscreens; I hope that this will be my HG. |

I wear MMU also. I have gotten great results with Image SPF15 Oil-Free sunscreen and MyChelle SPF28. However, I do apply finishing powder under my MMU and I dont' get oily or have to touch up during the day. If I don't do this first, I do get shiny. |

Hi tam,
Paris found a suncreen that she really liked this summer called Solbar. I was really interested in it because she said it doesn't make her greasy or interfere with her MMU, and she lives in a hot climate. I wrote to the company about stores that carried it, and they said that a lot of retail stores have it, but it might be near or in the pharmacy instead of with the other sunscreens. I wasn't able to find it, but you can order it online for sure.
This is her review of it:

Hi Marci,
I've tried Image SPF15, and couldn't get my MMU to work with it. I will look at Mychelle though. Thank you for the suggestions. |

Hi ParisTroika,
An update for you...
I ordered the Sofina sunscreen from bobodave on January 8th and it shipped on Jan. 10th. It was sent registered mail and arrived today (January 24th). I thought that it would take less time to reach me, but two weeks isn't bad.
Now, I just have to try it out. |

I've been eyeing the PSF Herbal Sunscreen for some time - has anyone tried it? I have oily-acne prone skin. I am currently using Clinique City Block SPF 25, and I am actually really happy with it, it doesn't make me break out and is a good make up base. But I keep thinking I'd like to try something more natural, like PSF |

Not to ruin your day, but I tanned extremely well using the Clarins just with incidental exposure. It might be OK in the winter when the UV index is lower, but for summer I certainly wouldn't trust it. |

Thank you for the heads-up! I'll remember that as I work through my list of sunscreens to test. |
