Ulta opened right by my house!!! This spells trouble...not to mention I just dropped my hubby off at the airport (for China)...he was the only one holding me to my New Years resolution....cut back on the makeup and skincare. Any recommendations...I've never even been in one of these stores! |

I'm SOOOO sorry... I love Ulta! Is it bad that they know me in there? Not when I can go in, with no coupon, or once, with a coupon that wasn't in effect yet, and they gave me the discount anyway, because they see me in there all the time...LOL
So far, since we've gotten Sephoras here, I haven't been in enough to get that treatment, but I'm working on it...ROFL |

Hi Kiki! That is how Sephora is for me...they never ask if I need help...they just say hi and show me where the new stuff is located! Ha! I love it. My husband just rolls his eyes...they even know him now. But alta is right next to my house...i didnt even know it was coming. I was driving my hubby to the airport and I spotted it...almost drove off the road. He tried to tell me it was a vitamin outlet...poor guy...he should know by now there is no changing me! |

That is sooo funny... My Ulta and Sephora aren't next door {probably a VERY good thing!}, but not that far.. And both are in the mall shopping area.. One inside the mall, the other in the surrounding little off shoots... Almost like one stop shopping... Even tho they carry so many of the same things, Sephora does have quite a bit that Ulta doesn't.. But that works the other way too.. I LOVE IT!!! |

There's only one solution Olivia, you'll have to move house!
Seriously whenever I'm in the US I have to stock up BIG TIME from Ulta. Hubby really enjoys that part of our holiday.... having to find the closest Ulta's so I can go on a mad spending spree! |

Wow Olivia, I can only imagine if they just built an Ulta in the area (although they built the one closest to my house a few months back) . The things I can recommend to you are:
*The salon may have some sort of special offers since they had just opened. Go ahead and ask. They were doing eyebrow shaping for free at mine when it had just opened.
*They usually have coupons on their website. Just click on advertised specials and type in your zip code. You will have to print it out, but usually the savings are $3.50 off a $10 purchase, or 20% off one item. So, check that out as well.
*Lastly, just enjoy yourself! I believe Ulta stores just began doing the same return policy as Sephora stores do (return an item if it doesn't work for you, no questions asked, or something like that).
Make sure to let us know what you get!!! I am also making a list as to what to get at my local Ulta. The SO made a bit of a mistake in getting me a gift card from them for my last birthday |

I'll be PMing you for my UDPP CPs
Then you can tell hubby that you're helping your forum friends to buy stuff (while you run up to the bathroom and frantically try to hide your own stash ) |

Just got back....WOW~! I'm impressed...I no longer see a need to go to target OR cvs! I did a really good job at keeping my spending under control.
I bought:
Makeup mirror (on sale for 18 dollars).
Cetephil (cause i'm out)
2 Revlon Lipsticks (buy one get one free)
Neutrogena 60 Second mask/scrub (my favorite)
I could have gone crazy in there...even now I'm planning my next trip! |

Olivia, you are my hero!
I also just discovered that there is not one but two Ultas in my metro area (naturally, way out in the boonies, darnit). I'm planning a little beauty run there Friday afternoon -- my financial aid for the term is a veritable pyre in my pocketbook right now. Who needs textbooks when you've got flawless skin, (I always say)?!?
So, ladies, what do you think: Should I take only $50 in cash and all my H&B coupons, and leave the credit cardat home??
Nah .... |

From what I remember, the Ulta brand of mineral makeup has really good reviews on MakeupAlley. I have been tempted to try it myself.
p.s. my husband hates Ulta/Sephora too
p.s.s. The Ulta by me is also next to a Bed Bath & Beyond and this BBB has a little cosmetic section I think to compete with Ulta. I didn't think I was in the right store for a second...makeup in Bed Bath?? Anywho...their prices were MUCH better than Ulta's on drugstore brand stuff. |
