OK, today I stumbled across the "bargain" of the week at Sony Plaza. Murad hydrating sunscreen with a FULL size Vit. C cleansing gel gift.
I had been thinking of getting this and the oil free for the face and was really excited.. thank goodness they had a tester. It smells like PEPPER!! Has anyone else tried this? My husband turned his nose up and ran scratching out of the shop and I stood wondering why and how it smelled like a tube of freshly ground pepper. The texture was great, but the smell just awful.
Has anyone else tried it and thought this? What is the ingredient that gives it the peppery smell? Or maybe it is just me..... |

Haven't tried .... and now I probably never will Perhaps it was off? I've tried a tinted Murad sunblock before and I don't recall any weird smell to it...
I do want to try the vit C cleanser though (AND the pomegranate one! *sigh*) |

Only thing is..the C in the cleanser is completely ineffective. Can't be stable in the face of all those surfactants and cleansing agents. Doesn't mean it isn't a good cleanser, just the C in the name is misleading. |

True, if you want to get vit C into your routine you should go for a serum. I also hear that they should ideally be in dark brown bottles (or at least not in clear bottles).
But the cleanser does sound nice and I have heard good things about it, which is why I'm tempted |

Yes, it is true about the amber bottles, Mabs. I understand about the temptations, regardless of effectiveness....part of the fun of being a woman...just feel like indulging yourself... |

Your not crazy Tiger_Tim. When I was makeup shopping, I got a sample of the same stuff. I had not opened the sampler until I read your post, and your right! It DOES smell like pepper. If not pepper definately something in the pungent spices category. |

Thank goodness it was not just us! I have asked for samples of the oil free sunscreen from EDS, so if I get them it will be interesting to see what they smell like. I guess it is a good case of try (or SMELL) before you buy! |
