I have read some reviews about the use of rose water as toner? What exactly is rose water? Is it something homemade? or which brand(s)would you ladies suggest or using? I appreciate any feedbacks! Many thanks!  |

Bbiz,
I think there are quite a few companies that make rose water toners - Jurlique and Phytomer do for sure.
I've got the Phytomer one at home (which is lovely!) and also have rose water that was made up by the chemist. It's a basic mix of rose essence, distilled water and glycerin.

mabsy, wow your pharmacies in Oz make skin care products?  I haven't heard of such a thing as our drugstores mixing up skin care concoctions. |

Thoughtcrime - heh, I think that's pretty much the only thing they will actually make up for you. Perhaps drugstores in other countries do it too, it just may not be common knowledge. I actually went up to the counter and said "Could you please make up some rose water for me?" and the lady seemed rather confused. She actually went behind the counter and said to the chemist chick "Do we actually MAKE rose water?" and the chemist noded  So, sometimes even the people that work there don't know!
Bbiz- I use it as a toner (I mainly stick to Phytomer Face Dew for that), and use the made up rose water as a mask (pour some onto a paper mask and put on face for 20 minutes), or as an eye compress (put some on two cotton pads, wrap in glad wrap, put in fridge and then use whenever your eyes are sore etc). Not sure what it does for my skin but for years people have talked about the benefits of rose based stuff for skin - so I hope it does something good. If not, then at least I still find it makes my skin feel nice and soft, plus I LIKE it  |

Rose water is the residue from extracting the oil from roses by distillation. It can be mixed with glycerin to make it more moisturizing, or you can just splash it on....that's what I like to do! I get mine from here...

...which is fine for UK and europe, but not to sure about elsewhere. I can say that for natural oils etc they are fantastic!....too much time online, think I'll have a rosewater eyebath!
Like the new layout BTW....must visit more often!

I do that too! (both, spend too much time online and rosewater eyebaths after  ) |

it makes for such joy!
PS I also run rosewater through my hair. Don't think it does anything for it, but it does smell nice. Don't think it would work with rose and glycerin tho  |

wow!! A lot of different uses!! very interesting. I just found a pdt called "Rosewater & Glycerin" in my local organic food market, by looking at the ingredient list, it seems to be a very natural product, I am giving it a try, seems lovely, like the smell too  Thanks for all your inputs |

I use Rosewater as a toner as well as a face spay on those hot humid days, or in winter (for me now) to help to the face feeling soft and moisturised when the heaters are on.
