I just dyed my virgin black hair to ash brown with golden highlights at the salon. I love it and don't want it to fade, so can anyone recommend any good color depositing shampoos/conditioners? TIA! |

I use the John Frieda Color glaze in brunette- its great, leave it on for 3 mins after you shampoo and condition and then rinse it off.
Make sure you wash your hands right away or else it stains your hands. Plus you only need a quarter size amount.
HTH! |

Aveda has color-depositing shampoos and conditioners. Clove would be the one for you. I've used them in Clove and Madder Root, depending on the color of my hair and they work really well. Be careful with the conditioner though, because it can stain your bathroom fixtures if not cleaned right away. |

I bought Goldwell Pure Color in Love Brown and am very happy with it (no red deposits). |

You could also try mixing Redken Shades with your shampoo, half and half. I order mine on eBay and mix two shades to get my perfect shade. This works really well! |

Be careful with the color depositing shampoos & conditioners. Your now-colored hair will take the deposits easier than virgin hair. I've turned my hair weird colors by using the wrong color...
My stylist mixes up a color depositing shampoo by Artec for me. It puts some color in my highlights because she knows they'll fade & get brassy pretty quickly (especially in summer). I'd ask the person who colored your hair for some recommendations.
The other thing to be careful of (because you won't want to use the color depositing shampoo/conditioner every day regardless) is to make sure you're using products that are safe for colored hair. I can't tell you how many times I've stripped color out of my hair using "volumizing" shampoos that don't spell out that they're safe for colored hair.
It's not that tough once you get used to it. I used to color my hair for some extra volume, but now I need to cover the gray . |
