Hey everyone!
I have been doing Zenbiotcs for just six or so days now, though I've been meaning to start it for a while. I made it a new year's resolution to figure out a better skin care plan, and this was my first experience.
Prior to trying Zenbiotics
My skin has always been sensitive and acne-prone, and as I've gotten older it has become much more dry and flaky. When I was 16 years old a doctor even told me once that I have seborrheic dermatitis, but never told me how to treat it, and I forgot about it until just recently. I was using Dr. H Cleansing Milk, a DIY ACV toner, and jojoba oil. My skin was flaking whenever I rubbed it at all. Very annoying.
Starting Zenbiotics
I bought the travel pack which includes the Face and Body Cleanser, the Oxytoner, and the Phyto Moisturizer and started using it at night. I used only these three products. The first night I tried it, I noticed that my usual flakiness was not as severe and my skin felt a bit more 'clean'. Not quite sure how else to describe it.
The next morning, there was still less flakiness and dryness. I have been using just water to wash in the AM, followed by the Oxytoner and the Phyto Moisturizer.
Later this evening (night #2) is when I noticed something interesting. I used the Cleanser and looked at my face only to see that it looked like my skin was peeling off! I panicked for a moment and then slapped on some 2MM to exfoliate. I had a lot of balling with the 2MM (more than usual!) but once I rinsed it off my skin looked amazing. It was fresh and felt like it could breathe more. I've been exfoliating every other day since this and plan on tapering off a bit.
Differences
I feel like the DHCM left a film or a layer of dead skin on my face that weighed it down and made it somewhat congested and dull. Whenever I used 2MM, I wouldn't get much balling and would still have a bunch of dry, peeling skin left over. It was like my face was a bottomless pit of flaky skin, even when I exfoliated. So weird! After just a few days of Zenbiotics, my skin feels much more hydrated and fresh, and less flaky and dull. The tone of my skin is generally healthier looking.
Breakouts
I am especially prone to breakouts when I start a new skin care routine, and this is the main reason I waited until after the holidays to start Zenbiotics. However, I can't say I've noticed the increase in breakouts that I expected with this line. My spots have changed though. They seem to heal quicker and are generally less red and irritated. I have noticed a few new ones that I would attribute to purging and am trying to be patient with them. It helps that they don't hang around for long.
******
I think that's it! I am going to buy full-size bottles of these three products very soon and I want to get a serum as well. I am leaning towards the Synergy serum, but am open to any suggestions by those of you that have more experience with them.
Thanks to those ladies that have been so forthcoming with their reviews already. If I hadn't read those, I would never have tried out this line!

Hi Lotus003,
One way you can definitely find the travel pack is to go to the order page and click on the little "i" next to it. That sends you to a description of the product. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the encouragement... this was my first review on EDS!
Blessings,

What a great review--- very thorough! Well done, Shawna!^-^ I was also using Dr. H products before I found the ZB line, and the Dr. H products did NOT agree with my face at all--- by the time I was done my face was COVERED in blemishes and tiny clogged pores. I switched to the ZB line to try to normalize my skin, and it worked like a charm! I'm so glad you've been enjoying it too. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with their serums so I don't have one to recommend to you, however, for the past few weeks I've been using their Body Milk on the backs of my hands, and my brown spots have actually been fading (!!!), so since their Body Milk formula is based on their cell-renuwal forumal, I want to try their cell-renuwal serum next. Also, I absolutely recommend trying their Moisture Enrich--- just one drop over your other ZB products will make your skin SO plump and dewy, and it has never broken me out which is pretty huge considering that almost all other oils and moisturizers break me out. Keep us updated! |
