After reading many posts about how to use AHA and BHA, I conclude there are mainly two ways of using them (just my opinion). One is to use them with low concerntration and not so low PH value daily or every other day; the other is to use them with high concerntration and low PH value every week as a strong exfoliator. Am I right?
But which way is better for big pores? I came back home this Christmas with skincare knowledge and information I got mainly from this nice forum (thank you every one here!), and introduct them to my sister, a lovely and pretty girl who is worried about the big pores in her face due to acne when she was a teenage. She still has some acne from time to time, but the main the problem is the big pores and black head. I brought some AHA and BHA samples with both high and low concerntration and ph value for her.
But, for her, how to use them to reduce and even diminish big pores? If using AHA and BHA with low concerntration and a bit high ph value daily or every other day, should she use them with high concerntration and low ph value every week for strong exfoliation? Will it be too much for her?
And also, which way is better for stimulate collagen?
Thank you every one for your answer! |

Hey liangzhiz~ Sorry I don't know the answer to your question...but my response is that it doesn’t need to be that complicated...choose a method for using aha/bha's that fits her lifestyle... with products she likes... then go for it. She could easily add an aspirin mask w/ sour cream or yogurt (that'd be aha/bha); she might be amazed (as many are) as to what that'll do for all her concerns...has she tried that? Her skin will tell her what is working...if masks don't work, go another route. Vit. C 15% can be essential for improving texture / appearance of pores. Even very clean pores can be large ya' know. I think you're right, with her trying an aha/bha combination. She can also start looking at makeup or primers that are good for hiding pores. You're a sweet sis' for helping her~ Best, Cyndi
My fave aspirin mask is 5 uncoated aspirin dissolved in just-enough-to-cover 100% aloe vera gel, teaspoon of honey, 2 drops each of essential lavender oil and tea tree oil, and a dollop of either yogurt, cream, sour cream or butter milk...whatever I’ve got. This is about 3 face masks...but I use it all over...leave on for 30 – 40 minutes then shower. Each of these ingredients addresses clean pores, exfoliation or blemishes. |
