Saw those, although it's cool I'm a little disappointed with Apple. 4GB or 8GB isn't nearly enough memory in that phone. Plus it's quite a hefty price tag on that also. |

P.S. scroll down on the link and click on "watch the keynote", Apple CEO Steve Jobs explains everything the phone can do....I want one NOW! |

Im sure you can upgrade memory, true about the price but remember when Razors came out they were like $500 bucks, now you can get one for $99. Same with iPods.
After seeing the video I would gladly shell out the money, its better (and different) than anything else on the market, plus Im an Apple lover! |

True about the price. Wonder how the battery works, if it's like the ipods I'd be a little weary of it, cool gadget nonethless though.
I never jumped on the Apple bandwagon for some reason. |

I'm pretty tech savvy and like all the new things that come out, just not too hyped about Apple products for some reason, that's all. |

It doesn't help that the iPhone can only be used with Cingular. What about the rest of the market? |

I soooooo want one of these! But, lucky for me, it sounds like the won't be in Canada any time soon (gives me time to justify the switch) AND maybe by then the price will have come down. I also figure, there will probably be a few bugs they will need to iron out, so by the time it is available up here, hopefully it will be cheaper and bug free! I just got a Blackberry Pearl too, and that's why I would hate to have to give it up so soon, so this gives me an excuse. Oh yeah, and did I happen to mention that I couldn't afford it anyway (this is my buy only what I need year ). |

Not if you live in Vermont, or large parts of Alaska, Colorado, the Dakotas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, upstate New York, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming, among other places, since no network is set up. But if u're anywhere else, good for you!

I want an iPhone too, but i'm going to wait around to see how the battery performs while multitasking between mp3 player, phone, camera and web browser. The battery better be a powerful one! |

Huh? I don't think that author has his info quite right...I've used my Cingular phone throughout Oregon and Minnesota, and in upstate New York. ? Even though Cingular may not have a network there, they have partner networks, and your phone transfers over. Even if you have to live in an area to sign up for the service, at at least with respect to Oregon and Minnesota, I think Cingular does cover the most populated parts of the state, and only doesn't cover the really remote areas, so most residents wouldn't be affected.
I'm still thinking about the iphone. I'm going to do a little more reading before it comes out this summer, and then decide. It looks great though! |

Taken from the article- "Cingular customers can roam on other networks or other carriers, but new customers must live in communities the company serves. Cingular spokeswoman Kate MacKinnon said the company has no plans to expand in Vermont, at least before 2009."
I'm just stating what it says, don't really know what it means as I live in Canada |

My battery on my 5G ipod works great. I've had it since the end of last summer with no problems what-so-ever. It lasts about 20hrs on one charge. I got the 60Gb version and I ripped all of my CDs. Now I can carry around all of my cds with me all of the time on my ipod. I had about 400 CDs and I download music all of the time and I have barely used 30Gb.
I have also never jumped on the apple bandwagon, but I do LOVE my ipod! I don't know that I would spend that much on a phone. If you don't have an ipod, I would get that instead.
Oh, and you are in luck, vonstella, Cingular will be carrying the iphone, so you will have coverage with the phone in DFW.

It kind of reminds me of my "cellphone" (really a handheld computer), the HTC MDA. Does all the same things, I'm pretty sure. Love the touch screen! Had one on my Treo (the on that committed suicide) and COULD NOT have a phone that didn't have it. You will love the touch controls - too cool! |
