Its very expensive and relatively new, I would wait and see the problem with treatments is that there is no $$$$ back guarantee, what is promised is frequently not delivered.I blew 4000 on Ipl and polaris it did nothing for me.Be careful do a lot of research out there there are other forums that have lots of info on lasers likewww.makemeheal.com and yesthey'refake.net |

Girls, Girls, Girls - Just did the fractional laser procedure at the end of December ...and I can't say enough GOOD things about this procedure!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 45 and just started to notice some sagging ...and the crinkles under my eyes have been driving me absolutely BATTY for years!! I have been to numerous surgeons to ask about eye lifts and chemical peels but just couldn't pull the trigger as I didn't feel like it was quite that bad.....boy, am I glad I waited!! This procedure worked AMAZINGLY on me!! My sags and lines are so much reduced - not erased but enough to make me forget about surgery or long healing chemical peels!!!
My doctor's procedure keeps you house bound for 4 days but good gravy was it worth it!! So...day 2 woke up PUFFY PUFFY PUFFY and thought "There is NO way that I am going to be ok to go out in 3 days"; day 3 woke up and said "There is NO way that I am going out in 2 days - he is nuts!!", day 4 woke up and said "HOLY COW!! (Ok, said something that I can't type here ) I can go out tomorrow!!" And in fact I went out that eve - albeit a bit pink....
Good article here:

I am counting the days until I can do this again to tighten up a bit more...but the down time is SOOOOO much better than anything I had considered and so much better than the Obagi Blue peel that I once did (when I looked like a Smurf for 48 hours - ugh!!) |

The proof in the pudding is in the longevity of the result.A lot of that tightening can loosen up and may not last more than a few months. |

Sounds interesting mbecci How often do they recommend doing it and at what intervals? This and other less invasive measures interest me for when the time comes. I find nothing more unattractive than a woman whose had a facelift too early.

He recommends once a year as optimal...being all these fractional lasers are new treatments, we will see if the tightening stays tight !
But for me, this feels so much more manageable (along with all the wonderful products/advice I have found on this wonderful forum!! ) than doing a more invasive procedure...I am now hoping to ward them off forever! |

Eddie - Just noticed your question in your post...it was one 20-min treatment (which I think is different than how some doctors do this)...this fractional is a bit deeper and requires one treatment with a few days down time vs. a bit lighter with no down time (from what I read prior to doing it...) HTH! |

Mbecci-I am thinking of having the frxel laser done. Does it do anything for broken caps? What is the main issues that it will address in your opinion? My esthetician advised me to stay home for 4-6 days after becuase of the swelling as I already swell just from IPL's. Have you had an IPL to compare the results to? Thanks in advance for your input. |

Hi AnnieR - I have not had IPL but it seems to have cleared my few broken caps. I didn't have an issue with caps but had a few and I remember about 3 months ago thinking ..."m, where did these little red lines come frome?" ..so I just scooted to look in the mirror and they are completely gone. My main issue was under eyes and the very beginning of marionnette lines around my mouth - sadly very saggy looking..but now sooooo much improved!!
I will try to get my before/after pics from my doc and post them...I am completely surprised and thrilled by this procedure for me. It really did the trick.
And my doc did use the deeper fractional laser that had me house-bound for 4 days - but SOOO worth it! Day 5 easily able to go out ....HTH, Michele |

I am going to try and schedule one soon. I wonder if you can do a partial area, like lower face, just for comparison and quicker recovery. My eye area swells horribly. I will have to ask. |

Just talked to my esthetician and am scheduling one for early Feb, kind of scary! I know it's supposed to be PAINFUL even compared with all the IPL's I've had. She said it's a cross between an IPL and CO2 laser, so it's kind of intense. They advised me to be prepared for 2 weeks total recovery time, peeling and all. But they are running a special at my med/spa/plastic surgeon's office for 750.00, so it's seems like a fair deal.
It is supposed to help acne and light scarring, broken caps, fine lines and light wrinkles. Like a baaaddddd sunburn, she says. Ha, I'll bet she's never even tested it cause she doesn't think the IPL's even hurt. I'm such a coward, but I'll suffer for vanity! |

I'm thinking of having a set of fraxel laser treatments on my face. Those of you that have had it, are you still happy with your results??
thanks in advance! |

A good friend of mine had it done this past winter. She's 48. It did absolutely nothing good for her in the long run, and she is very disappointed. |
