TESCO COSMETIC APPLICATOR BUDS
I hope fellow UK people might find this useful.
You know how we often read about all of those wonderful products that just never seem to be available over here? Well, I'd been searching unsuccessfully for a supplier of pointed cotton buds - as used in Scallawaggirl's SuperCop 2x spot treatment. I could find them at a cheap enough price on US sites, but the shipping costs were very silly.
Whilst staying at my Aunt's house over Christmas, I noticed a tub of pointed cotton buds in her bathroom. Couldn't believe my eyes! So, it was off to Tesco's for a scout around.
They come in a handy plastic container with average contents of 80 buds. One end is pointed and the other is more akin to normal cotton buds, but flatter - almost like an oval lollipop.
Not only will I be using these for Scallawaggirl's SuperCop spot treatment, but I also tried them this morning to apply Vaseline around my eyes, prior to tinting my lashes. With normal cotton buds, this had always been a little tricky - the cotton seems to puff up and leaves bits on my skin, as well as being clumsy and unwieldy for application under the bottom lashes.
These Tesco buds seem to be of a really good quality. No puffing up, no shedding, and the pointed end is very accurate, ensuring a smooth, non-messy application.
I can wholeheartedly recommend these handy little implements. Even better that they're widely available over here. Hurray! |

I use these too. I would never have thought of doing a review for them.
After all cotton wool pads & buds are an important part of my skincare routine.
Thanks for having the sense to post. |

It's really helpful to know this, thanks Majorb.
There are so many things that we cant get here, it's a relief to find something that's available to us without international shipping! |

heeeeyyy, there are a NUMBER of things I miss from the UK:
Boots bubble bath, or even Tesco's or Sainsbury's (I simply haven't been able to find anything comparable here without spending $$$$$)
Boots Botanics eye definer (I miss it soooo much)
The Simple range
Corsodyl mouthwash (you need a prescription here for it)
Don't get me started on other prescriptions...
Oh, and Bourbons biscuits (m...not technically a skincare product, but what the heck!) |

Yes I too think we have some great stuff over here, I am always picking up bits from Tesco, I think their Barbara Daly range is good quality, I buy all my haircare from Tesco too.
Boots and Superdrug have some nice and inexpensive products too.
I find the Boots Points system quite addictive |

I love shopping in Boots - I buy lots of essentials in there and save the points for treats! |
