I just wanted to share this with everyone. I make caesar salad all the time and my secret is the dressing. Ive tried many brands. and I believe this is the best - Paul Newman creamy caesar salad dressing. I've got many family and friends hook onto this thing.

I love making salads, i would go to places and order their salad and try to copy at home. Laughing

Please share your recipe too.

pickiis--- I love Newman's own, unfortunately I can't eat his Caesar dressing because it contains anchovies.=( I do however love salads! My favorite salad is very simple: mixed greens, goat cheese, artichoke hearts, and basalmic vinegar dressing, mmmm!! My other favorite is a chilled asparagus salad:

Wash and cut a bunch of asparagus into bite site pieces, then boil for just a minute or two. Run asp. under cool water, drain, dry throroughly, and put in the fridge to chill for 30 min, then mix with dressing and serve.

Dressing: 3 tablespoons toasted sesame oil, 3 teaspoons white wine vinegar, 4 teaspoons soy sauce, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, 4 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds

The dressing recipe makes more than you need, so you can use the leftover on your regular salads--- it's really delicious!

I've had Newman's, and it's a little too peppery for my taste. I like T. Marzetti's Supreme Caesar (in the refrigerated salad section). That stuff is great!

I love salads too, especially with goat cheese! Love that stuff!!! Tossing in some golden currents or dried cranberries in a green salad is also good with the feta, and sliced beets are nice with it as well. Chopped walnuts are a good addition too.

I also like salads of tomatoes and sliced mozzarella, with some fresh basil and balsamic vinaigrette

Here's a tasty slaw recipe I got off the Internet last year and my family loves it:

Spicy Savoy Slaw (makes 6 C)

5 T seasoned rice vinegar
1 T sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1-2 tsp. minced serrano chili including seeds (or some kind of hot chili)
1 tsp. finely grated peeled fresh ginger
1 1/2 tsp. Asian sesame oil
6 C thinly sliced Savoy cabbage
1 C thinly sliced snow peas (actually, I make wide diagonal slices because it looks better!)
1/4 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

Whisk dressing ingredients then add cabbage, peas and pepper. Let stand at room temperature until wilted, about 30 minutes.

manslayerliz, your asparagus recipe sounds great -- I've written it down and will try it soon!

I must strongly agree that this is the best Caesar salad dressing ever! Although, I'm not too proud to say that I first tried it at McDonald's with the crispy Chicken Caesar Salad Embarassed. Yummy! I don't have any recipes of making salads though...its just whatever I have on hand that sounds good at that very moment Laughing .

My favorite Caesar dressing is Lily's, but I haven't tried Newman's...yet!
