I've used both beta glucan and dmae in aloe vera gel, they do very well, although remember the dmae will make the aloe vera runny. They can both be added to existing creams and lotions, but once again the dmae will make them very runny.
The way I use these two actives, and other water soluble actives, is to mix them with rosewater and use them as a facial spray before applying my regular moisturiser or sunscreen. I make up just enough to last a week so my actives remain fresh (never sure how long they will last once mixed into products) and I find this a lot easier than trying to mix them into creams.
At present I am using rosewater mixed with dmae, allantoin, beta glucan, glucosamine and niacinamide. For around my eyes I use aloe vera gel mixed with the same actives and a little bit of lecithin which helps thicken it somewhat and a small amount of glycerin to help retain moisture.
I have not used kojic acid, however I have found John from Bulk Actives very helpful in answering questions. |

Luckylouie, thank you very very much for your reply. The information you gave is very helpful
I've ordered all of those actives from bulkactvies too and have asked John some questions, but didn't get answers from him yet. Rose water, well, interesting. Thank you for sharing! |
