A team of about 150 American firefighters arrived in Australia this week to help fight the Victorian fires.
The bush fire season has been particularly bad this year and the fire crews are exhausted.
A big Thank You for the Americans coming to help out.

"You're welcome, little lady, always glad to lend a hand!" <------ (this was said to me by a firefighter - complete with a tip of the fire helmet and a wink - when I was younger and our neighborhood was threatened by wild fire that came very close to our house - you have to say it with a John Wayne accent!) |

We have our faults - but big HEARTS. I hope they help your firefighters quash the fires quickly & your guys get some much needed rest as I'm sure they're weary... |

Second that! On the whole, folks in the U.S. are generally quite kind-hearted and willing to help.

Huhmmm, wonder if that relates to the recent news that opinions on the U.S. worldwide are basically in the toilet? Anyhow ... *chanting "ten foot pole ... ten foot pole"* |

A big thanks to the Canadian and New Zealand fire fighters also, they have been fighting them here also. Though i guess they help each other all the time. I know quite a few of the aussie fire fighters have only recently come back from America helping them out with some fires. |

I'm partial to a firefighter in uniform too.
As a teacher it's usually me who organises for the firefighters to come out to our school to give a demo. |
