There is some photographer that is obsessed with the shape that womens lipstick take on. He did a coffee table book of photos of the tubes up close, pretty interesting. I dont wear lipstick anymore because I cant stand most of the scents, I'll start to get sick. When I did wear it mine took on a blunt curve. Its all in the application. |

Why is a curvy lip indent desirable?
Since my lipstick has one, I'm hoping to hear some good news that will cheer me up . |

Yes, why? Mine gets a deeeep indent. I was told that's a sign of a dominant personality.

I think the shape is somewhat dependent on where you are applying the pressure and not just the shape of your lips. I think it also makes a difference how the lipstick started out. If mine starts flat it either stays that way or I get a bit of an angle but not too much, whereas if it starts angled it usually stays that way. Does that make sense? LOL Sheesh I'm tired. |

This is an interesting thread! I would love to see some interpretation of what the different shapes might imply about the user (or we can just make one up! )
Mine sort of gets a higher ridge on one side, then slopes down to an indent and comes back up again. I think it looks odd as heck! |

Bit of a curvy indent for me... though a bit higher on one side. |

Way interesting...seems I sit between 'flat top concave' & 'sharp angled box curved tip' |

I'm a flat top if the barrel of the lipstick tube is not slanted. If it is slanted, for some reason I keep the end slanted too.
Maybe that means I'm a conformist...haha. |

I may be weird but I like to keep mine the same shape as when it was new. If it ever gets the little indent I'll start using the unindented parts so it eventually goes back to the same shape. |

Mine ALWAYS ends up flat. Doesn't matter what shape it starts with. That's interesting to see that webpage about the different shapes. I remember reading something like that long ago, but I could never find anything about it again. I wish I could get mine to stay slanted too, but nope ... always get flat. |

Also flat. I remember years ago trying to make them stay slanted because I thought it looked "sexier" but inevitably would always go flat! |

Mine doesn't develop that sharp point nor does it go really flat...It definitely loses the edge but doesn't go entirely flat - it kind of stays roundish on top with no edges at all.

My lipstick always does this sort of wedge thingie. It's hard to explain.
I always wondered how some women manage to get theirs flat across the top.
How is this possible?! |

Here's mine -
Rounded smooth tip.
Easy-going
Peacemaker
Even tempered
Steady
Likeable
Generous
Sometimes though, if the lipstick is soft, it goes flat. |
