HI all im not sure if this is the place to post this topic as im soooo new! Wink . But hopefully it takes off.

Just wanted a place where ppl could give us sites or stores where they purchased their products. Its great knowing about them but thats only half the battle, because we have yet to find them. Sad

Personally Im from Sydney, Australia and would love to know where ppl from Oz are getting their products. I've been looking for Burt's Bees prods and ardell sites which ship to Aus.

sorry if this doesnt belong here Embarassed .... thanks

Hi Slai and welcome to our boards Very Happy

I think you've started a great topic! and am pretty positive others will drop by with info and tips!

I haven't got a clue where you can find Ardell and Burts Bees that ship to Oz...whilst you're waiting for help, have you done a search amongst the masses of threads about Ardell? it wouldn't surprise me if the information is to be found somewhere amongst them...

great topic. I, too, would like to know where certain great-working-products, can be purchased. i know burt's bees sells quite a bit here in our health food stores and some grocery stores. if you can't find what you are looking re the bee's, let me know and i can see if i can find it here and ship it to you. patrice

I live in the US, so I am not sure where you can buy those things so they can get shipped to Australia. Does Drugstore.com ship to Oz?

I think that vitacost.com ships internationally, and they have GREAT prices on Burt's Bees too.

I'm from Oz but only buy from EDS so no problems with shipping. A product would have to be a real miracle for me to be convinced to buy elsewhere now.

I love EDS so I buy from them unless they don't have a brand. Alima was VERY prompt. I am planning to order from Carekate and Candy soon.

AWESOME NEWS TO MY INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS - I just checkedwww.drugstore.com, which is where I bought my Ardell lash growth serum, and received promptly today (took them about 4 days to get the stuff to me). They will ship internationally. Here's how you do it:

http://www.drugstore.com/templates/browse/default.asp?catid=99513&trx=storedir-left&trxp1=DSHPlnav60&trxp2=99513

Hope that helps!

I want to add that this site is very reliable and prompt. My sister always orders tons of stuff from them whenever she knows I'm going to return to Thailand for a visit. I think you also get free shipping (not sure if it works for international shipping) if you order $25 or more (only for new customers).

I don't know about websites that ship to Oz (that won't horribly overcharge you), but I still offer my services as "personal shopper" for overseas members so if there's a specific item you want/need but can't find a website to get it from, then PM to work out a deal. I will do everything in my power to obtain the item/s you want.

As for the Ardell Lash and Brow Growth Accelerator, I have a few tubes in my personal stash for just this such emergency! If you want one of them, PM to work out the details. Burt's Bees products are also readily available in my area so if you send the list of what you want, I can pick those up for you as well.

HTH,
Carrie

Yes, they have a link to separate website that ships internationally, but they gouge you on the S&H charges and -- for a $4USD tube of Ardell, the minimum postage is like $20-$25USD...that's part of the reason that I offer to shop for overseas members b/c it makes me mad that they charge that much to ship an item that actually costs about $7.50USD to mail to Oz! It's just outrageous, IMHO.

Carrie, you are so sweet to offer this service to our international friends. You have a heart of gold. We all really appreciate your advice and knowledge as well as your products which have absolutely been raved about by so many members who got to try them. I really can't wait for your lush lash serum to be on the market. I am using Revitalash for 3 weeks, and haven't seen any results yet. My bald spot did fill in a little on the bottom lid, but that's about all....just now starting to apply Ardell, too. How long did it take you to notice results with JM?

slai, I'm from Australia, too, and am finding the suggestions everyone is providing really helpful. Cherisse and manslayerliz, thank you for your responses. I've bookmarked already! slai, you can get Burt's Bees from adorebeauty.com.au, but it's great to have another site to compare prices and range.

Carekate, thank you so much for offering to help...I'm going to exhaust opportunities to order directly from retailers, but it's so good to know if we get absolutely stuck that we can come to you. Smile

Just wondering....if you buy something that gets shipped from the US to Aus, wouldn't you get taxed by custom like crazy? My nephew lives in Melbourne now (going to school there), and wants to buy an MP3 player which he said is only sold in the US, but he thinks he'll get slapped with a lot of duty at the Australian Custom if the vendor shipped it to him directly in Aus. Is that true?

You may have to check with the Australian Customs website for electrical goods but I do know that with skincare you can get a shipment from overseas that is less than A$1000 with no customs or GST charges.

Cherisse, bushy is right. Do check with Aust Customs, but I'm pretty sure it's a $1000 limit on anything posted that's not illegal, restricted or outside our quarantine regulations, except for alcohol and cigarettes. The mp3 player should be ok, if it's worth less than $1,000 AUSD. If it's over, then you'd have to start looking at duties and tax. Again, just check with Aust Customs, they have a websitewww.customs.gov.au

Thanks, you guys. This is so very helpful. My nephew is visiting his mom now in Thailand, and wanted to buy the MP3 player and have it shipped to my house in the US, and then have me ship it to him in Thailand. I told him that he might have to pay a lot of taxes on it since Thai customs slap all electronic items like 200% of the value, and asked him why he wouldn't just have it sent to him in Australia. He said Australia customs are just as bad as Thai. I can't believe any other country would be as bad as Thai customs!

hehe wow Thanks GUYS!! i love this website... everyones so willing and helpful!!!

Cherisse - i checked drugstorecom, u need to sign up for this Apo thing where u have an addy in the US. apparently they send ur purchases there and it gets forwarded to OZ or where ever u are in the world. But u have to register for it $38? and pay a yearly fee of $140 or so for it. Its ridiculous! eheh... but thanks for the post.. hehe wishful thinking

Oh and also with the customs thing... i think dif products get taxed differently... then theres the question of whether it will even get past customs. Mad

manslayerliz - dont think vitacost ships to oz unfortunately... hehe we're deprived!
thanks tho Smile

Carekate - hehe i will definately take u up on that offer. And i agree.. S&H fees are out of this world, sometimes they charge u 3x more for shipping than the product itself. and then theres the weight issue cos its airshipped.. and then customs... the list goes on. Thanks so much for your post... I C why u are such a valued member in this forum! Very Happy

Slai,

Carekates offer is genuine. She is fantastic & generous & goes out of her way to help.

Which reminds me Carrie we decided on another bedding set that I did order from US but I got a lot of of extras with it & had it shipped direct to me although shipping probably wasn't as cheap as you would have charged. I didn't think you would appreciate lugging a huge box down the post office. I had visions of the box being bigger than you & you never answering another one of my emails. Rolling Eyes
