Hey all! I ran a search and had no luck...I was just wondering if anyone knows of a recipe for a DIY eye cream? I know Candy has an eye oil (which I use) but I'm curious to know if anyone has a fab. mock-up for an eye cream.
Perhaps I just missed it. I apologize.
TIA!

I would like to know about that too! I would like something along the lines of MUAC Advanced Eye Repair (or at least with similar actives). I have been streching out a couple of samples and like it quite a bit.

I'll let you know salli, Candy and katee swear by it and by the individual ingredients that go into this, I don't see how I won't love it. |

From the recipe it sounds like you'll have a ton of it. |

They say to use about 4 oz of the base, I'll probably pass some along to my mom, and my aunt and so forth. Would you like some?
I'm hoping all the ingredients will come by this weekend so I can try it sat, I'm afraid it may be one of those trial and error things and would hate to mess it up and throw it away. I won't be using all the ingredients in this one but most of them. |

I'd love some if it isn't any trouble. I would be happy to pay for it. Just let me know and I'll get some $$ off to you. |

No need for the money since I'll be making some anyhow, I"ll just decant some out and mail it out to you since I already have your address and all.
FYI: this is my first attempt on this particular DYI recipe, so it may not come out exactly as it's suppose to |

Were the ingredients expensive? I've never tried DIY...figured I was too lazy, but I'd love to go entirely DIY or pretty close to it.
Make sure you guys post results.
I miss katee |

She's around, think she just may be busy with work,
Paris,
Ingredients do add up since you need a litte of this a little of that and so forth, but the batch will probably last you a year. For the time being I need purchase the quantities of ingredients from SAS since I don't need lbs of this stuff which I can get straight from the distributor. |

I have all of the ingredients except for the endosperm. Can coconut milk be used? I looked briefly on GOOGLE and both mature cocnut meat and milk seem to be called endosperm. Does anyone know about this?
Thanks. |

Not sure, coconut milk is liquid form and the endosperm is a solid, almost granular in form. Candy or Katee may be able to answer this in more detail. |

I'm gonig to give it w whirl, though I'm going to add my own actives, namely because at this point I can't afford all the ones listed in the other thread. I also need to finish off an eye cream I've been experimenting with.
I'll post the ingredients that I'm going to add to get feedback once I get home and check my list (it's on my home laptop).
Should I store the unused portions in the fridge...since I won't be using all the ingredients at once??? |

Coconut milk is liquid endosperm. SAS's Coconut endosperm is taken from the seed tissue of the coconut. Either should give you the kinetin needed for nutrition and cell division.
Hope this helps.

Pure coconut milk is the liquid easily attained form of the endosperm.

Hmmm. I thought endosperm was from the coconut WATER ...???
I guess ya learn sumthin new ever'day!
ETA: A quick Google took me to http://waynesword.palomar.edu/ecoph10.htm, where I found this:
The fruit of the coconut (Cocos nucifera) is technically a large, dry drupe (D) composed of a thin outer layer (exocarp), a thick, fibrous middle layer called a mesocarp (F), and a hard inner layer called an endocarp (E) that surrounds a large seed. The endocarp (A) contains three germination pores at one end, one of which the sprouting coconut palm grows through. The "meat" of the seed is endosperm tissue (B) and a small, cylindrical embryo is embedded in this nutritive tissue just opposite the functional germination pore. The seed is surrounded by an outer brown layer called the seed coat or testa. This is the brown material that adheres to the white "meat" or endosperm when it is removed from the endocarp shell. "Coconut water" (C) is multinucleate liquid endosperm that has not developed into solid tissue composed of cells. Copra comes from the meat of dried coconuts, while coir fibers are derived from the fibrous mesocarp.
So, apparently, it's BOTH (& the meat, which is where the milk comes from). So, that's that. |

I made the eye cream and have been using it for 2 nights. Too early to tell effectiveness but it does moisturize well. |
