Hi,
Does anyone know of any exfoliating techniques/ procedures/processes that are better than microdermabrasion? By better, I mean deeper exfoliation, in particular for the face. Something I can do at home or have done by a pro...doesn't matter.
Thanks.

If you are wanting "deep" then you are looking at peels if microdermabrasion is not enough. Otherwise try doing something more often moderately rather than intensively every now and then - otherwise it leads to broken caps and irritated skin. Even for those who have tough unreactive skin, treat it with care.
You can try enzyme/aspirin peels that are left on for a long time, and do microdermabrasion (pure crystals + water) beforehand to remove any excess skin buildup.

Go to a pro and get a microderm AND then a Glycolic peel. Its the best skin of your life!
This is how it works. The first 3 layers of your skin are dead. So with microderm those layers are removed. Then you do a Glycolic peel. Glycolic is made of sugar cane. When sugar is used on the skin it turns into a gas which makes the molecule extremely small and can reach the deeper layers of the skin. So on top of already removing the first 3 layers of dead skin you are already getting deeper penetration. You are actually working on the dermis. So in weeks to come when your skin exfoliation cycle is happening the skin that you worked on weeks ago is much more beautiful. It will help with any scarring and fine lines and over all a more “glowy” appearance to your skin. Not to mention when you apply your moisturizer/anti-oxidants ect. it will actually be absorbing in to your live skin instead of dead skin cells.
Plus glycolic is anti-bacterial!
I do suggest going to a pro because the "microderms" for home are nothing more that just a physical exfoliante. It is NOT microderm. And glycolic peels that can be sold to people with out a license are a buffered and are a smaller glycolic percentage. You will get much stronger and better result seeing an esthetician. |
