Hi everyone,
This is my first post here, I've been thoroughly enjoying reading all your posts so thought I'd ask a question.
I have hormonal acne; for two weeks of every month my skin has spots around my chin, jaw and at the side of my cheeks (?). I found it greatly reduced by taking Acnease for a month but now I'm after a mask to keep it under control, which isn't too drying as I have normal skin with dry patches in Winter.
Over the past few years I've tried....
Dr H Clay Mask (and the steam bath too!)
Dr H Rejuvenating Mask
Origins Out of Trouble Mask
Decleor Clay and Herb Mask
Elemis Lavender Repair Mask
Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask
Guinot Radiance Mask
Liz Earle Cleansing Mask
Philosophy The Great Mystery
I'm looking for something that will take down any redness and go towards clearing my pores out!
Anyone have a mask that they adore for these sorts of problems??

Hi fidget, and welcome! For swollen, hormonal acne, the quickest fix I've found is a sulfur-based mask. Both Peter Thomas Roth and PSF make one (PSF's is called acne mud I believe), and they are both available here at EDS. However, you want to be careful with sulfur, and use it only on active acne. I over-used it several years back and caused my skin to develop on allergy, so now I can't use it anymore.=( For all-over maintenance, the mask I like is Burt's Bees green clay mask. It's cheap, smells good, and goes on like green silk. HTH! |

I have to say you should try the Asprin Mask in the DIY thread. Asprin is BHA which really help to clean out the pores. You can use honey to make the mask more moisturizing. |

Oh Liz, I have to stop reading your posts!
Now I want to try the Peter Thomas Roth and PSF masks!
For my sulphur source I currently use clearasil tinted spot treatment. There are 2 kinds, but one has BP and one has Sulphur. I have been using this for years and it works well (apply a thick layer of it on the pimple over nite). But I think i want to try the masks that Liz mentioned.
Which one did you like better Liz?
Why don't we just get it over with and you send me a list of all the great products you use!

I use the Queene Helene Mask-- you can buy it for $4 at any drugstore or Walmart. It has sulfur. It is drying for my already parched skin, so I just leave it on for 15-20 minutes on spots that need treatment. |

Hi CG! LOL, I'm going to mail you a frilly satin eyemask, and whenever you see my name on a post, you just pop that baby on your face--- see no evil, buy no evil, right?^-^
Anyways, actually, I never got to try the PSF acne mud since I developed my sulfur allergy before I discovered this wonderful forum, but it gets a TON of raves here and the ingredients are awesome. I do remember liking the PTR mask back when I used to use it, but if you were going to pick one I might suggest starting with the PSF because it's so much more affordable. HTH! |

Thanks Liz!
I don't know if the eyemask will help! I need some sort of shocking device on my computer that gives me a zap so i can't read your posts !
I will try to sustain my temptation from buying this mask, I just ordered samples from BBS, once again after reading your posts and I am sure I will fall in love with the acne gel/serum and order that.
Your a curse liz! Your a curse!!!
