Hi everyone:
I have been using a moisturizer with and SPF 15 in the morning and at night for as long as I remember. When I was younger, I was always on some sort of antibiotic or acne medication so I didn't notice clogged pores. However, now that I'm older and off the meds, I am getting more acne then ever.
Should I find a moisturizer with SPF?
Thanks |

You should use a moisturizer without SPF at night. |

Often wondered how skin would know it was night and I did the same as you when I was younger as I could not be bothered buying two creams but as you get older a richer cream is needed at night. |

I don't think it's bad to use SPF at night, but I do think you want something richer at night. |

Hi LL,
I don't think it's bad to use your SPF day cream as a night cream ... but it's more of a "waste" of the SPF.
If, however, you don't have problems with breakouts ... and if you really like the cream ... and if you don't need anything richer ... then I'd advise that you continue to do what you've been doing.
Some people have trouble with sunscreens clogging pores ... or are otherwise sensitive to them ... but if you don't have any problems I can't see where it would hurt you.
HTH

I think you'd better to use moisturizer without SPF at night .We should let our skin free "breath " when we were sleeping and SPF isn't necessary. |

The beauty consultant advised me that a cream contains UVA/UVB filters (but not a SPF cream) is good for applying during night time as the indoor lighting also hurts skin. |

lorettapy,
Is your beauty consultant a facialist? Can you remember what products has UVA/UVB filters without SPF?
Thanks,

Skip the SPF at night--it's not necessary and it could indeed be clogging your pores. As far as indoor lighting damaging skin, don't most people wear their night creams while they sleep? |

Thanks for everyone's replies.
Seems like the majority of the people said that SPF lotions at night is not a good idea. In another thread, I asked about Dove's Sensitive and Energy Glow lines because I'm interested in giving them a try; are they worthwhile? Price is not really that big of an issue. I'm more concerned with irritation and breakouts and many people have suggested Dove is a very good line despite the fact that it's a drugstore brand.
I'm currently using Marcelle Multi-Purpose SPF Cream in the day time and night time. Any recs?
Thanks! |

I don't think it really matters as long as you are ok with wasting the spf. |
