Last Friday, as I was straightening my hair with one of those flat irons that also flip the ends of your hair, I accidentally grabbed and held the hot edge of the iron with my index finger as I went to turn it. YEEEEOOOWWWWW & OUCH!! Anxious Anyways, I was on my way to meet my SO and his parents downtown for dinner and a hockey game and only had time to run cold water over it for a few minutes. Trouble is, it was bright red, puffing up, THROBBING and hurt like crazy.

Luckily I remembered that I had a 25g tube of Weleda's Burn-Care tucked way although I had never used it before. I put a big blob on my finger and it completely took the pain away for a few minutes. When it did come back, it still hurt like crazy but was a bit more bearable. I ended up taking the tube with me and applied it frequently throughout the evening, whenever the throbbing pain started to get out of hand. By the time I got home around 11pm, the pain was finally starting to fade away.

The remarkable thing is that a *slight wrinkle* was the only evidence of my burn the next morning and that disappeared by the following morning. Unlike any other time I have gotten a burn, at no time did it blister, peel, or ooze nor did the skin turn colour (like that reddish brown look that burns can have).

The web blurb says: When applied immediately following a burn it covers and protects the area with a sort of liquid skin, holding fluids within. It is also effective for insect bites, frost bite and sunburn.

Active Ingredients: Arnica montana MT (M) 0.125g, Urtica urens MT (M) 2.375g – from the tube itself
Ingredients: Arnica, small stinging nettle, Alcohol, Algin, Glycerin, Water – as posted on the web

Texture: The texture is a watery, translucent light gel that is similar in colour to golden honey. It has a very faint, inoffensive scent.

Packaging: The ointment comes in a 25g metal tube for around $10.50 CAD.

Usage: Apply to affected area 3-4 times daily.

Verdict: This is an impressive ointment. I highly recommend it!
