My eyes have been a bit on the dry sides lately, and I noticed that my ordinary eye make-up remover had started to sting a bit, so I decided to give the Dermalogica a try, especially since it was listed as soothing.

Well, yesterday evening it was put to the first test. I was, for once, wearing a full face with eyeshadow, liner and mascara, and was eager to see if that could be taken care of. I put some remover on a cotton pad, it had a thin gel-like texture. I had to rub quite a while for anything to come off, so all in all, I was a bit disappointed.

I find that the Ultracalming Cleanser does a much better job at removing make-up. Normally, I use a two-phase remover from L'Oreal, and I might return to that one after this experience.

Hi Nemi,

I tried this last year and was quite surprised by the gel texture. It removed my eye makeup easily (though I don't wear waterproof eye makeup - just a bit of eyeshadow and mascara) but I just couldn't quite get used to the gel texture of it. I much prefer a liquid one.

I think, as far as dedicated eye makeup removers go, The Body Shop one is really good and I have read positive reviews of the Decleor one as well. Almay used to make eye makeup remover that came on pre-moistened pads - that product had many fans! You can't get it anymore (at least not in Australia). I noticed that Babor have one just like it though (quite cheap too!) so I might try that eventually and see how it compares. I like the convenience of the pads being pre-moistened for me. I'm so lazy! Laughing Embarassed Let me rephrase that - it's great for travelling! Smile

Another good eye make-up remover is the two-phase remover from Juvena (If I remember correctly there are two, one gel and one two-phase remover). It is very gentle, yet efficient, and my eyes loved it. So why didn't I buy that one again Rolling Eyes ? Like you, I wasn't too keen on the gel texture of the Dermalogica remover.
