Wow, I really enjoyed reading everyone's suggestions--- keep them coming!
Here are some things that help me wind down/fall asleep:
*Warm bath with Burt's Bees Baby Bee Buttermilk bath--- the smell is so calming, I can actually feel my body relax
*Spraying my sheets and pillowcases with Candessence Lavender Aloe Silk Body Spray
*Breathing exercises I learned in yoga class: slowly inhale, hold breath in for just a few counts, then slowly exhale
*drinking a cup of warm chamomile tea
*Reading a book I've read before (If it's a new, interesting book I'll want to stay up all night to find out what happens. On the other hand, if it's something I've read before like 1001 nights, reading a little bit of it will definitely get me on the path to sleep.) |

I get up and turn on the news - CNN or financial channel and have a cup of camomile tea. That always makes me sleepy. They say it is not good to just lie there. |

When I can't fall asleep, it's usually from stress so I just use aromatherapy (a blend of 2/3 lavender and 1/3 eucalpyptus) and I listen to Kitaro's "Thinking of You" CD.
And I would usually complement the 'de-stressing' routine with a paper facial mask for my eyes and face, after which I'll place a silk therapy pillow (filled with rice husks or some other natural grains) on my eyes |
