I posted a similar question a while back but didn't get any definite answers. No one said that doing something like this would be a bad idea. And I can't think of any reason why it would be a problem but this is just a guess.
I did use both Differin and IS Clinical Proheal (this have 1% retinol) for about 3 months. I was told by several retailers of ISC that this would be an okay combination. So I was using the Differin at night and the Proheal in the morning-both every day. My skin is very sensitive and this did not cause any irritation. Adding the Proheal did cause problems with blackheads and clogged pores but I attribute these problems to something other than the fact that I was using both a retinoid and retinol.
I plan on doing something very similar to what you are asking. I will be getting Diacneal in a few days and I plan on gradually switching from the Differin to the Diacneal. (This is all provided that the pH of the Diacneal tests high enough for my liking!) I will be starting with Differin for two days and Diacneal for one. Then alternating them everyother day. And then Diacneal every day. For a while I planned on just using both on alternate days but decided to gradually switch to just the Diacneal. I did call dermstore to discuss my original plans of alternating the Differin and Diacneal everyday and they said that this would be fine.
BTW I am interested in hearing how your skin reacts to the Differin. I have been using it for 9 years now and have sensitive skin. I think that I recall your skin being sensitive too. So please keep me updated on your experience with this. Also, which strenght on SC retinol are you using? |

avalange -- you can get the cortisone cream at any pharmacie, no need for the derm. as for your shoulder, i'd recommend getting Yonka Emulsion Pure and doing compresses with it (carekate makes a great version but i realise this is an emergency). you can leave it on overnight or during the day with a bandaid if you'd like (warming the area first aids in the absorbtion). i'd recommend keeping on the EP or the cortisone cream that way if anything just to keep clothes (or bra straps) from rubbing it and irritating it further. oh, and neat lavender oil is always good for itchies. |
