Didn't that just grab your interest?
Well, I could go on and on, but my dog has allergies. We've been working to pinpoint them for approximately 2 years. I know we're getting closer. It drives me much more nuts than it drives him. Anyway, he has an Orvis bed, and now I see they make a nonpermeable liner to keep dust mites out of the bed filling. I've been googling this afternoon to learn more, and, we are getting ready to have our carpets steam cleaned in a week or so. Anyway, does anyone have favorite beds for their dogs, and any experience with the dust mite issue, a common household allergen? Thank you. |

I didn't even know that dogs could have allergies!
I don't have any recommendations, but good luck to you on your quest. |

Oh my, dogs can have tons of allergies. Cats, too.
Thank you for your reply, though. I *knew* this post wouldn't get the same response that my eyebrows did. |

Hi Cedar, I breed (and show) dogs - we have a few different breeds, but have only experienced one super-allergic dog which we had tested for all the common allergies without finding a cause (flea saliva, grass incl grass seed etc). She developed the allergy later in life (she is now 11) and has been through a number of medications until we found one that works (stops her desire to rub/scratch her skin raw) and of course its an expensive one. I don't live in the US so am not familiar with an Orvis bed but perhaps a trampoline type bed may suit if dust/dustmites are the problem they are off the ground and you can get different types of covers for them. I wish I could offer more advice perhaps a "doggy" (canine) forum may be able to provide more information and/or solutions. |
