I generally have oily/spotty skin. I develpoed adult acne a couple of years ago and got it under control last summer by using Unblemish. Now with a very dry winter and pregnancy hormones my face is a mess. I've started breaking out again (mostly on my forehead, small but very red pimples as opposed to the huge cystic monsters I used to get on my chin and cheeks) and I've developed tight, flaky skin and some fine lines around my eyes. My skin generally looks dull, tired and far older than 26.
I currently use the Unblemish system (sulfur cleanser, salicylic toner and BP treatment) and Neutrogena's Visibly Even Daily SPF 15 moisturizer. I exfoliate twice weekly with a microdermabrasion product.
I need a good daytime moisturizer, preferably with SPF, but I am willing to have two products if the perfect moisturizer comes with no sun protection. I am also interested in a mask and a maybe a night moisturizer/treatment. Does anyone have a product they think would fit the bill? Is there a product I should be using that I haven't considered? Thanks for any and all suggestions--I am terribly desperate! |

Welcome and Congratulations!
How far along you are?....First trimester can be bad skin-wise and things generally clear up in second trimester. Since you cant use most of the stronger stuff....regular exfoliation along with simple moisturisation and spot treating with something gentle like Yonka juvenil should be a good combo. This winter I enjoyed using Kosmea SPF 30 moisturizer. I have just run out and am not buying it again as humid weather is very close and that will be too heavy in HongKong. If you are in a drier area....I would recommend that. I also dont like layering stuff at all. That was a simple solution this winter. It has lots of anti-oxidants as well.
HTHS in enjoying your pregnancy. |

i would look into the reviews of zenbiotic's phyto moisturizer on this forum - it's quite hydrating without being oily or pore clogging. |

I have the same problem in winter -- I'd really really stay away from benzoyl peroxide. I would go with salicylic acid cleanser, an enzyme mask like juice beauty green apple peel, and try a good moisturizer -- you may need something more than oil free. I actually break out less when I use a slighty heavier moisturzer because my skin is less irritated. Stick with hydration, exfoliation, and maybe use a humidifier....the dry winter air leaves me with dry patchy skin with greasy spots, ew.
Anyways, sulfur and BP are just going to irritate your winter skin and make it worse so I'd avoid. |
