Can anyone help me in my search for a good 'nail pen'? I looked in the archives but only saw reference to the Dr H nail pen.

I have been using one from Nails Inc. for a while.
(the 'avocado cuticle oil' one at
http://www.nailsinc.com/category/cuticle-oil-pens.cfm )

It's a nice size to fit in a make up case and is easy to apply and absorb so I actually use it fairly regularly whilst I never actually got around to using 'proper' nail products I'd bought. BUT the biggest ingredient is petroleum and I would prefer to use something with more actual proper oil in it if possible. And I definitely don't like paying £10 for something with not that many mls in..with most of them being petroleum...

I had a look at the Dr H pen at the health food shop and it's huge in comparison (looked at least three times the thickness..and then there's the smell of neem..

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks Smile

In the past, I've used Sephora's Cuticle Care Pen and liked it. It's much thinner than the Dr. H pen, which I now use, and I don't recall any pronounced scent.

Unfortunately, I no longer have one on hand, and Sephora's website isn't listing the ingredients, so I'm not certain whether it relies on petrolatum.

I've always been a little surprised at how few choices there seem to be, given that nail pens are so convenient.

I think Sally Hansen has a nail pen in the range, but I'm not sure of the ingredients.

If I remember correctly I think I read in one of Carekate's threads that she may in the future be packaging her cuticle oil in pen type plastic packaging.

Ooh...ooh...just got emailed this from a friend. Anyone heard of Sante?

Just thought of Googling cuticle pen instead and have come up with one by Essie and Pfeilring (?) - both on HQhair but no ingredients Sad

daisy, I don't have a pen recommendation per se for you but I really really really like Carekate's lemon-neem cuticle balm. This thing is a real savior for me. She can also package it into a handy lipstick type of container that you can carry around and swipe on at your convenience.

Daisy, could you live without the pen-style applicator? If so, then Avoplex oil is very nice, and much better value as you get 15ml for not much more than the price of the Nails Inc pen.
