Thought I'd give you all an update
What seems to work best for me is the plastic crocodile clip. The long silver one would work also, but my hair gets caught in it. I could put tissue paper in it as edenfield suggested, but the speedier the solution for me the better
The jury is still out on using the velcro roller. I also tried the nit comb, but that doesn't work well for me at getting rid of the part in my hair (that I get when I revert to using a headband while putting on mu).
sormuimui, I went looking for those silver v-shaped clips and the only ones I could find here have a little bump on the bottom part -- I think to create a tighter grip. I imagine that would cause a bump in my hair. Also these had to be opened with two hands. Don't know if that's the same with the ones you have...
In any case, the croc clip is doing the job pretty well. I think, though, the spring won't last forever, and the grip will loosen over time, so I will be on the lookout for more since I'll want to keep a few on hand.
Thanks again, everyone!

Have you thought about "salon clips"? I think because they're flatter than crocodile clips these might be more comfortable and perhaps work better. The below sells for 2.60USD:
It took me a while but THESE are the clips I'm talking about, I have a set in silver:

Hi sormuimui
Thanks for the pics! The croc clips I have are shaped the same as these silver salon clips, but they're just made of plastic. Yes, they look just as flat, although they have tiny plastic teeth.
Yes, those Goody clips look like the ones I was looking at (and they were all silver also). Do yours have a little bump or ridge on the bottom part? The ones I looked at did and I was afraid they would leave a mark in my hair. They flexed open and closed in a way that I need 2 hands to open - not sure about closing.

Really? I've never needed 2 hands and they've never left a mark on my hair, but it MIGHT be possible if your hair is damp. I just push the top part closed with one hand. |
