Baking soda/water will only neutralize the acid. It cannot undue any peeling action already performed by the peel. If you are a retinol user, it is advised to stop for atleast 3-5 days prior to a peel as it weakens the skin's layers and will intensify the effect of the acid.
Emu or any other healing oil (emu/HA is the best for quick healing, IMO, though) and using weak copper peptides will also help quickly heal the skin. I would avoid Neosporin unless you have open wounds.
I love my at-home peels but I had to promise myself to take it easy because it's so easy to over do it when we get comfortable. I think every 3-4 weeks is a good schedule (for the big % ones) so it gives your skin a chance to recover and take in nutrients in the interim.
I hope you're okay. |

OK, for those of you 'newer' burns victims who have scarring, my scarring lasted about 18 months. It has only JUST faded completely. I found that it was like a blemish on my face for about six months but easily hidden with makeup. It then faded for ages only to resurface when I started using copper peptides. Despite my misgivings, I started using very mild acids again with the CP usage and the scarring is now gone. Even when I have been in a hot bath or done a lactic peel (yes it is such a dim memory of what I did to mt face!) there is no evidence of the scar.
If it does happen again I know that with a huge bottle of ultra emu and HA I will be fine |
