What if you still do have red marks after a few weeks? Will that go away eventually?
I experimented with some callus remover on a surgical scar a few weeks ago and still see red marks. The thing is, that I also added a few drops of lactic acid (88%) to the small bottle. Not much, only to fill it up, The original was "only" 17% salicylic acid. I used it as a leave on - since thats whay the bottle said. Of course without the added acid.I know - so stupid...
I mean, they ARE getting lighter. Will they fade completely? Is it possible to have marks for life?? |
Out of interest Monica, where on earth would you get a recommended use of something with "ONLY" 17% salicylic considering most formulations use 2% and 5% is considered exceptionally strong and only for experienced users. |

Be careful with Neosporin. I tried to use it on my face once and I got terrible allergic reaction. My face had big red bumps for several days. |

Was that a scar on your body or your face? |

OK, for those of you 'newer' burns victims who have scarring, my scarring lasted about 18 months. It has only JUST faded completely. I found that it was like a blemish on my face for about six months but easily hidden with makeup. It then faded for ages only to resurface when I started using copper peptides. Despite my misgivings, I started using very mild acids again with the CP usage and the scarring is now gone. Even when I have been in a hot bath or done a lactic peel (yes it is such a dim memory of what I did to mt face!) there is no evidence of the scar.
If it does happen again I know that with a huge bottle of ultra emu and HA I will be fine |

ritas, I'd recommend emu oil as it's very healing. My favorite is from LB Processors, the Ultra and I'm just about to order some more.

Hi Rita,
its finally gone. I have been using copper peptide for the last month or so, and that really helped. it was fading slowly before but the CP made a noticable difference. I used Neova, then switched to Complex Cu3 post laser lotion. I have also been using those on my face and chest in general each night for anti aging purposes. HTH |

Just wanted to share that after long time of 4 months my glycolic peel burn scar was about to heal and kind of healed significantly.
But I got very severe outbreaks on my face so I tried proactive solution for pimples as suggested by my 3-4 friends as they found it great. And i could see the visible results just in 4 days and was very happy but after 7-8 days i again had several red patches which then turn to white patches (flaky dry itchy and inflamed)similar to chemical peel burn and my previous scars again inflamed and became prominent.
Then i learned proactive toner has glycolic acid and i guess now my skin has become very sensitive to it though i use regular sunscreen and has minimum exposure to sun.
Note that earlier (5 months back) I had been taking regular glycolic facial for 6 months after every 20 days and improved my complexion allot and became fair but then it made my skin hyper sensitive to sun and other lotions and cremes and now i develop rashes and scars very easily |

Hey All,
Just wanted to share with all of you. I got solution for my dry itchy white skin patch caused by glycolic peel burn.
There is one Aurvedic oil name Lippu oil. My doctor recommend me to use it twice daily. I followed the twice a daily routine of washing my face with cetaphil face wash applying witchhazel toner wait for 3-4 min then applying vitamin C serum (that i made with rose water and water as my skin is very oily and easily have breakouts).
After that applying Lippu oil locally on dry patches again wait for 3-4 min and then apply Olay moistriser for sensitive skin that is non- comedogenic and has spf15 and in the end i apply very little amount of my regular sunblock. Within 10 days my dryness is completely gone and white patch is really minimized.
I hope this will be helpful for others also.
My this message is duplicated and i apologize for that but by mistake earlier I posted in different thread. |

Yuh. The derms here suggest Polysporin, not Neosporin, for the reason that Neosporin has an ingredient that causes reactions in some people. |

This is the perfect topic,
last night i was spot treating a few areas with 10% lactic and it was burning quite a bit, but i wasnt paying too much attention as I was busy doing something. 30 min later i washed it off and didnt really look in the mirror. I woke up today and noticed in about 3 of the areas i was spot treating look like they are scabbed. Like i had a surface scratch and a scab has formed.
Im very worried and decided to apply vit E oil today. But since i have read this post i have now applied Emu instead.
Ahh, hopefully no scars, as thats what i was spot treating, would be quite ironic to get scars trying to heal them...
Would emu\aloe combo be better? |

i double posted so it would be bumped.
has anyone tried honey on burns? i read it is also very effective in healing faster.
So perhaps a mix of emu/honey would be the best combo. assuming they do not counteract with each other. |

I wish that the biafine was not only available by RX. It is what my doc prescribed after my Fraxel (but 3 weeks too late). Works better than neosporin and vasoline but it doesn't clog pores or is greasy at all. It eats away the dead skin to speed up healing. It is used after peels, lasers, and surgeries now to hydrate without expediting breakouts. |

Chrissie-I haven't looked online other than Inhouse Pharmacy a month or so back. I still have a huge tube of it left and you use a very small amount so I think it will last a while. I was just thinking it is great for people to have on hand who often do procedures, like peels or lasers, rahter than having to have an office visit to get it. Online is a great idea for those who don't have it, but I think several people had tried and found it was discontinued or something. I sure hope not because when I eventually run out I will be frantically looking. |

Inhouse Pharmacy doesn't have it, nor medsmex. I am having a CO2 peel done in a few weeks, anywhere else to check on line that anyone knows of? Last resort will call Dr. to get a prescription, although she said she has her patients use vasoline (ugh). |

Vaseline is just so heavy for me, that's why I love the biafine. Ask your doc if she will pre-call it in and tell her it was recommended to you. Good luck. |

I have mild rosacea and my skin burns after appying AHA, Vit C or any other harsh treatments. Once I had a very severe burn around my eyes. What gave me an immediate relief is a cream that I got from Russia ( I know it doesn't help much) But the main ingredients are sea buckthorn oil and bee pollen. |
