hopeful--you're welcome!
hi zumlya,
So glad to hear the pearl powder is working in the azulene veggie cream (my mom LOVES this). It is incredible isn't it? I'm wondering if the pearl powder clumping has to do with the fact that it was dissolved in witch hazel? I know pearl powder is water soluble but i am not sure if there is enough water in witch hazel? i always thought it was alcohol based.
i just went over there and checked out the lemon grass cleanser because of your post. it sounds lovely! Looks like something i am going to have to try in the future.
I love the daisy serum too, i was getting some awesome brightening until i forgot to use it for the last 2 weeks!

I didn't think of that, thanks. I did read recently, Kim (from IFP) said witch hazel was bad for acne prone skin because it was extracted with alcohol. (of, course I read this after I ordered.) But, almost every toner I've tried has had it in there, so I knew for sure It wouldn't irritate me. Unfortunately I bought a bunch, so I will have to use it up before I try something else. I doubt I could finda a good swap for it.
Amylola loves suki, so I thought I'd give it a try since the price was so reasonable. I might break down and try it tonight. I was waiting to make sure I wasn't going to break out from the veggie base. |

Catski, Mtview, Kristen, I got an email from Markey yesterday that she shipped out my package. I'm so excited. The only problem is I didn't know about the veggie cream and the pearl powder, so I didn't order them. But despair not, I can always order more. hehe I can't wait to try the liquid BG. I only ordered 2 oz, but if I liked it, I'd order the 8 oz next. Just hope she'd still have some when I'm ready for my next order.
Has anyone tried mixing ester c with liquid BG or DMAE bitartrate with it? |

Yay! I got my order just a few days after the shipping notification. Right now I am just trying the base cream. If all goes well then I will add in the pearl powder and BG. I also just order the 2oz size. Since my skin is so reactive, I figure I will get small/trial sizes first.
Hope our skin will respond well to all the GoW goodies |

Hi zumyla,
I don't think witch hazel is bad in moderation is it? I also have never heard of anyone reacting to the veggie so hopefully you won't be an exception .
Hi Cherisse,
I haven't worked with DMAE or ester C, but i remember reading that the liquid beta glucans were a good base for ascorbic acid.
Hi mtview,
Keep us updated ok?
i also think 2 oz is a good size. i am totally abusing the fact that i have so much of the liquid BG, i have been literally pouring it into my shampoo and slathering my body with it mixed with lotion. I am so bad . |

Hi Kristen,
I love the texture of the azulene veggie cream but unfortunately my face still feels tight and dry. I have weird skin Any suggestions?
Maybe I will get some hydrosol for my next order or some oil? I am hoping the BG will help with the hydration. |

Hi mtview,
At night, I always pat on a carrier oil on top of the cream to form another barrier to help lock moisture in. I mix my carrier oil (camellia oil) with the GoW moisturizing gel on top of my moisturizer at night time. I think the moisturizing gel is awesome by the way (it is filled with goodies) and makes my skin so soft.
I have read that extra virgin cold pressed coconut oil is great for drier skins and a few ladies over at GoW forum do that as a final step. I actually bought a gallon from mountain rose herbs (I cook with it and use it in my hair in addition to adding it to skin products) but Markey sells a small amount (she calls hers "coconut cream".
I remember i was just about to add some directly into my base cream to help with my dry cheeks patches before the weather started to warm up.
you may also want to look into adding any moisture boosting actives into the base cream like ceramides.
There's lots of options
I hope that helps,
Kristen
p.s. i almost forgot about shea butter! I just received mine a couple days ago and wow! it is divine. i got the east shea (which has a silky butter texture), i am planning on adding some to my mom's cream to amp up the moisture. |

Hi Kristen,
I kept reading about the east shea on delphi. May have to get some with my next order. I also emailed Markey to see if she has any suggestions for me. |

Zumla,
There is a Witch Hazel Distillate. I agree with Kim that the extracted 14% is yucky.

oops, I forgot to say that. I did buy the distillate (was with the hydrosols?) I should have known there was a difference. I got the biggest size. What else can I do with this stuff? |

Hi! It is a great investment! You can use this anywhere you would use water in a formulation. Also, as a spritz as well. It is very mild and good for the skin. Mildly astringent but not so much it will irritate the skin.
Hope that helps...

Hi mtview,
I hope Markey had some suggestions for you, and I have to say everything good that has been said about the east shea is true!
It is so versatile, and some nights, i even use it mixed with a little watermelon seed oil as an eye cream. Some of the delphi ladies use it with rosehip to erase fine lines.

Is it normal that I still have not received my GOW package? I've been waiting all week since I got that shipping notice. It was shipped first class, and from AZ to CA, I didn't think it would take this long. |

I've noticed that she prints & e-mails out the shipping label almost as soon as the order is received. I think she still has to fill and pack. And, who knows how long that will take because she's backed up. If you still want to add stuff, e-mail her. She's very helpful, and you could probably save yourself some shipping costs. |

Hmmm...when I print shipping labels, the USPS website asks me when the package will be shipped & I have to enter that date. Of course, there's no one to force me to mail it on that date, but I always do because it gives the customers an accurate shipping date. |

Zumlya,
Thank you for your kind and positive post.
I really do appreciate it. Yes, I do print
labels as I download orders. Although it
isn't always correct this past month
because I am backed up, in most cases it
is quite correct for the customer. Just
a bit busy right now is all.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Marla,
Hi there! Thanks for being so positive and not being angry! I was explaining to BKK that this past week on top of being behind I had to reship 23 orders that have gone 'missing' at my local post office. This was just one day so they are looking into this [no duh, right?]. I don't think much will come of it though since I am still waiting [4 months] for a reimbursement on a lost, insured package.
Thanks,
Markey |

Yeah, I was wondering if it was my post office's fault again since they often deliver other people's mail to my house, so I figured they must deliver my mail to other people's houses, too. So that was why I was checking to see if this was normal (due to the disclaimer on GOW's web site that delivery would take a week to 10 days), and if other people were also having to wait a while, or it was my post office's problem. I know and had experienced firsthand how a post office made a mistake and delivered a package I mailed to the wrong place (NY instead of TX) and it got rerouted all the way back to CA before it was delivered correctly. The whole thing took 2 weeks.
Anyway, I'm sorry Markey that you had to remail 23 packages. That's a lot of work and aggrevation you don't need. I hope you can get things straightened out with the post office soon. I don't want you to lose money.
Thanks for noticing the problem and reshipping the packages. |
