I was wondering if aloe vera gel fades red marks well, what is your experience with it?

I ask because I have been using apple cider vinegar as a toner and it made my red marks stay the same darkness for two months and has not gone away Sad

I am thinking of just applying aloe vera gel to help it instead

Not sure if it will help. But I did a search online. Some studies show that aloe vera gel helps wounds heal faster, and that's about it.

In my experience, it does nothing about fading dark marks and scars. You need a product(s) that will:

(1) exfoliate - to increase cell turnover; and
(2) nourish - to increase cell turnover; and
(3) lighten and inhibit pigmentation eg. L-Ascorbic Acid (better known as Vitamin C).

Aloe Vera Gel only helps soothe itch, burns, etc. I don't think aloe vera can help heal scars. I'm not so sure though.. Confused

I think aloe is good for post sunburn soothing, but other than that it doesn't seem to do much for marks or zits etc.

If you can find an aloe with chammomile blend somewhere, it can be quite a good skin comforter for those irritated random skin days. Pity I haven't seen that combination in most aloe vera gels lately.

I find aloe vera gel helps with zits/spots but it tends to be drying - not sure if it'll work on scars but I know after aloe vera clears up the zits/spots there's no scarring Smile

IME, aloe vera didn't help fade red marks. Nice moisturizing qualities for my skin, but didn't lighten anything.

I agree with the Dermatix. Stri-vectin also helped the redness with my scars and Tri-Reduction with retinol.
