I decided to go with a 10% strength Vit C ester product using ascorbyl palmitate. I havent been able to find a recipe, so I just went ahead and tried it on my own.

Im not sure if a higher percentage of AP would be more beneficial. I found online that one company - Jen Marini - sells a concentrated serum which contains 7% ascorbyl palmitate. Bulkactives suggests 5% for Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP)and 5-7% for Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate. I know those are different derivatives of Vit C than ascorbyl palmitate, but it gives you an idea I think. Dr.Perricone uses ascorbyl palmitate in his products, though he doesnt reveal the percentage.

I used a small measuring cup and filled it to 50ccs with the AP. There is 1000mg AP in 1tsp. 1tsp is 5ml. 50ccs is 10g AP.

I used another measuring cup and filled it with some Cetaphil lotion. Someone on this board wrote that the AP would dissolve well in it (any lotion). Then I added the AP and stirred it well, adding more Cetaphil to get to 100ccs.

It looked so smooth and silky. I tried it already and its wonderful, like a souffle Smile

I am using the ester form because I want to go the acid free route, except for using Renova 0.025% every third day only.

I intend to follow Dr.Hubers advise on reducing frequency of actives to avoid receptor fatique and product addiction. I know - he doesnt advocate tretinoin, but I decided to keep it as part of my routine.

Any suggestions regarding using AP are welcomed Smile

Perricone uses Tetra these days - if you check his ingredients lists as does Dr Huber.
