I saw this at Vitacost. I am agains looking for a good cleanser, and remember someone on EDS says Burt's Bees is a really good brand. So maybe someone has tried this cleanser and can tell me what you think of it?

Thanks!! Smile

I found a thread posted by Carekate on this but it was several months ago in 2006. I wonder if she still likes it. Anyone else tried it based on her recommendation and what did you think of it? I have dry and sensitive skin.

I used this for about a year....its been about 3 years ago. I really liked it. The smell is nice and it removes makeup really well...even on eyes. I didnt like having to use a washcloth to get it off though. That was my only draw back. It was great for my dry sensitive skin.

Thank you, Olivia. So it is worth trying I think. I tried Avalon Organics CoQ10 cleansing milk and it was drying out my skin, and it smelled weird. I didn't like that at all.

Hey bkkgirl? I too have been wanting to try the Burts Bees Orange oil cleanser. Tangal has told me though that I should only use facial cleansers with a pH of 5.5 or lower. I called BB and they wouldn't give me the pH level, so I haven't purchased it yet. Instead, I'm trying the oil cleansing method using the "I Feel Pretty" facial cleansing oil product. I love it! If you're interested, go to ifeelprettyproducts.com. I'm very impressed with all the products from this site, and love the prices too.. If you do get the BB orange oil cleanser, please let us know how you like it..

Carekate posted an extensive review of the product both on EDS and MUA.

I've got a tube of this. I first started using this last spring when my skin was dry and flaky. It really helped exfoliate and made the dry spots more comfortable. When the weather got warmer it was too rich and I started getting pimples. Recently my skin's gotten painfully dry so I've dug it back out and have started using it again. When first applied, it can drag on the skin so let it sit and warm up first and then it'll just slide around and get everything off. Love the orange smell!

bkkgirl, I ordered this off the burt's bees site about 3 years ago and i have to say abosolutely HATED it. i so wanted to like it, but it is definitely not in my opinion, a good cleanser for those with oily skin. i remember not being able to get it off my skin even with a second cleanser. i am not sure if the formula has since changed, but carrie also has oily skin and i do remember her saying she liked it.

Kristen

ETA: i looked up the review on MUA and found out that they have since changed the formula:

I just tried it and IMO it's really easy to get off with just one wash. It smells just like orange! Very nice and fresh! Drool

Lisa, thanks for letting me know. I just bought this from vitacost this morning, so I'll probably get it (along with 6 other Burt's Bees products) at the end of the week.

Kristen, I hope I like it, too, but one good thing about buying at Vitacost is you can send it back if you don't like it, so it won't clutter up your bathroom. Smile And I have dry skin. I will report back how I like it. :-P

I am so not with the popular consensus on this cleanser.

- I thought it smelled like a stinky old public toilet (when warmed through rubbing) and even before that the orange smell was cheap & sickly sweet (reminded me of orange cleaner Laughing )

- I felt the texture was too thick and dragged across the skin too much. It was not comfortable at all to massage onto my skin. Sad

carekate sent me a sample of this stuff awhile back...
.. I liked it but never found it being sold in any stores (I've always made sure to glance at the Burt's Bees section whenever I saw one).. I didn't know it was on Vitacost this whole time. Thanks for pointing this out, I'll probably pick up a tube of it with my next vitamin order.

They got lots of Burt's Bees items, including Baby Bees. I bought 7 different Burt's Bees products from them. Smile

Unfortunately, I hate this cleanser. I actually everything in this brand. I guess it depends on your skin type. I have acne-prone skin.

Unfortunately Vitacost emailed me they are out of stock on this cleanser, and the BBBB Buttermilk Bath Soak, which are the only two things that are holding up my order, so I told them to cancel these, so the rest can be shipped. Sad Oh well, maybe I will see it at CVS or another drug store.
