I used to wear GA foundation and tried many MMUs and fell in love with Lumiere VV. After three weeks, I can't control the oil. I feel and look oilier than ever. I've tried silk powder under and everything. I just don't understand. It use to look perfect-Help! Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

This what I learned from the benefit of Aspirin masks...

I dissolve 1-2 tablets of uncoated Aspirin in my toner (alcohol free), and use a cosmetic pad to pick up the liquid part of the mixture and cover my face with it, before applying any lotion or make up. This really helps reducing the oil on my face...

Also try MAC prep+prime, it's excellent at controlling oil. I wear this under my MMU too and it works flawlessly.

Other people on the forum also recommended milk of magnesia, which is supposed to be a really good primer too (and cheap :P). But I haven't tried this one myself...

Good luck!

Perhaps you haven't found the right MMU formula for your skin? I tested Alima for a few weeks and liked it well enough, then it started making my combination skin oilier than usual (and in winter too!) so that the makeup started caking and looking really bad towards the end of the day. I switched to Everyday Minerals and have had zero problems with additional oiliness. Their formulation seems to control the oil and balance my skin.

No, I dont think so. My skin is less oily since I started using MMU.

Has anything else changed, like your diet or your stress levels?

I've been using it a couple of years. When I started I had very oily skin anyhow.

I think what stopped my skin being so oily was using Rare Minerals by BE at night, and using OCM and acv toner.

Although who knows, really. I woke up after my 40th birthday with weird skin and it's only just stabilised, seven years later...

All I can say for sure is that MMU didnt add to oiliness for me. I havent tried Lumiere yet. If you really think it might be the make up, lay off it for a while and see if the oiliness diminishes.

Fatigue makes my skin oily.. having little kids sure is fatiguing! Wink

Exactly what I was going to say. When Im not getting enough rest my skin gets really oily as opposed to regular oily. My son just turned 1 and good grief does that child have energy! I have to force myself to let the laundry, etc. wait and get my eight hours, when my sleep is off eveything to do with my body is off.
