I absolutely love this SS (thank you to the gorgeous Vonstella Very Happy ).
I hope my skin doesn't go silly with it like it's want.

Anyway, I was wondering if this is a physical or a chemical SS?

Thank you.

Thanks Carol.
ATM my skin likes it very much - who knows though what my skin is likely to do in a week or so. Rolling Eyes (ny skin is temperamental).

I'm glad it has both as I'm looking at getting some UGloGirl mineral soft finisher to put over it.
If it was purely chemical I couldn't have done that.

I read somewhere in another thread that silicones aren't great for your skin. I don't know anything about this myself, could anyone shed some light on why this might be so? Thanks Smile

Hi I just ordered some yesterday from a seller on e-bay (can't remember the name) But if you go to E-bay and search "Sofina Sunscreen" you'll see lots of options.

Hi Julsey,

I remember reading that silicones can build up on the skin and suffocate it and impede the skin from absorbing other products. On the other hand, i have read that silicones might be good in that it forms a layer to protect the skin from the external environment. I am on the fence about silicones, and try it avoid it in a skin product if it is one of the first ingredients. this was the main reason i won't repurchase ice elements moisturizer even though i liked the effect on my skin, cones was the second ingredient in the listing. I don't mind if it is one of the last ingredients though.

Hopefully someone else can shed more light on this.

Kristen

Hi Emma,

I am still using sofina despite it not being perfect, i still think it is very good for everyday wear and really, which sunscreen can beat the finish? (maybe sunkiller Smile ) I am not outside very much and the PPD is actually good for a non-euro sunscreen as Theresa pointed out.

I will continue to use it until i find something better though i am doubtful i will.

Kristen Smile

Is the PPD 8? Im looking at sunkiller now, either that or i need to use a better moisturiser under the sofina.

Actually im a bit worried about this sunscreen in it - ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE I heard its pretty unstable, dont need more free radicals!

Right Carol and Molly - I think you'll need to do a search for some black eye concealer.

carol69 it is rated PA+++ under the Janpanese rating system which means that it has a PPD of 8 or more. I am guessing that the PPD is more likely to be closer to 8 on that 8 or more scale but that is just a guess!!

Personally I am not convinced that the PPD rating system is the absolute best way to judge UVA protection but this is something that I am still researching.

Thanks theresa. I guess you only get that PPD if you apply the required amount too Confused which i probably dont Neutral Though with the runny texture it is easier to apply a fair amount.
