I lost the * spam * card (I wasn't born in Canada) I needed to renew my Canadian passport. I've been looking for months to no avail and I'm really stressed out. The next step is to apply for a new * spam * card but that requires documents I have not seen for years! I'm at a loss of what to do. I LOVE travelling so I'm stuck and miserable. I'm so fustrated with the bureaucratic mess- I just don't know what agency I should approch next. Even if I file the appropriate papers, I don't know how many months it will take... I don't even know what step to take next  |

| Call the passport office...look in the blue pages & you'lll find it. I'm sure they'll give you ptions..how about your * spam * certificate? I don't know where you are..here's the montreal one: 514-283- 2152. |

| Google the Government of Canada website and you should be able to go from there. I always go to gov sites when it comes to that stuff. |

| The number for Passport Canada is 1-800-567-6868 and the website iswww.ppt.gc.ca/index.aspx?lang=e. I am guessing though that you will have to apply for a new * spam * card. I recently spent many stressful hours trying to find out how to get a passport for my 3 month old baby, whose birth was still in the process of being registered and I had no birth certificate. So believe me, I know the frustration you are feeling. |

| If one of the documents you need is a birth certificate, you can apply for a new one for a fee... I had to do that a few years ago. |

| I was pickpocketed in Montreal once and my * spam * card and all my other i.d. was in the wallet. The * spam * office was able to pull up my info and issue me a temporary card until they could mail me a replacement one. I wonder if they can do that for you? |

But, she wasn't born in Canada..I know, I go through the same thing every 5 years trying to find documents.. |
