Does that mean our skin is dirty?

How do you combat large pores?

Aren't large pores just genetic? Everyone in my family has them. I certainly don't think it means you're skin is dirty.

Genetics are a big facter, but other things can contribute, and if they are changed the large pores can appear "smaller" or more "normal". But you can never actually "change" your pores size, just make it "gap less", stay "tighter" and appear less "large"

Other issues:

-Build up of oils, dead skin cells, and cosmetics, debris inside the pore
-Skin thinning, loss of fat layer, usually aging related
-UV damage , or other damage (again skin thinning)
-Skin thinning from exfoliant or product overuse
-Skin thinning from collagen breakdown (loss of firmness)
-Skin damage in relation to pollution, oxidative stress, irritation etc
-Oily skin often has more issues with this, because of the amount of oil production overall
-use of skin care products that increase irritation or oil production

If you have large pores, you can never make them small, but you can certainly make changes in your skincare and habits to make them gap less, and appear more normal. I know, I have done so. Wink

And the sucess of changes, depends on why you have enlarged pores.

I am sure there are other facters, these are just the ones I remembered quickly.

Do you do some mud mask once a week?
How many times do you do a hydrating mask per week?

I asked this question b/c I never had large pores before in my 20s. I just started to notice them recently. Sad
