Does anyone know what the shelf life is for an opened tube of Tazorac gel?

My tubes have an expiration date at the bottom of them, right where the bend is. I am taking that the date listed there is for opened tubes? Let me know if someone knows something I don't.

I usually just go by the expiry date on the crimp of the tube. You can actually go a little bit past the expiry date without losing too much potency of the drug.

In general I always thought that the expiry date listed on a container/tube/bottle was in reference to an unopened container.... that once a container is opened that specific product has it's own shelf life (b/c they can vary from product to product).

Confused

Nah...the expiration date is telling you the shelf life of a product assuming it is being open and used. Maybe longer if unopened. Also keep in mind, it is very important to put the cap back on Tazorac after you've used it. Personally, once mine has reached the expiration date, I toss it, because I don't want to risk applying useless cream on my face!

Thanks everyone!

Btw, do any of you use it for psoriasis? (I was wondering if I should recommend that my friend ask her doc about it).
