Does anyone make any jewelry from beads? If yes, who is your favorite supplier?
Many years ago I used to make some jewelry from beads and now I am thinking to do it again.

Hi Doba,
I've done a little work with beads ... I use them in some crochet projects ... and I've sewn some onto garments etc. But I am very drawn to beads.  I will go out of my way to go to the bead section of craft stores ... I will even find myself wanting to buy beads ... with absolutely no project in mind!
I blame it all on one of my girlfriends ... she spent 6 months living in the Tucson area ... and took a beading course when she was there. She made fabulous jewellery with her beads ... complex stuff ... and she got me hooked on "the nature of beads"!
If you're in Canada ... the biggest supplier is John Bead. If you're in the U.S. ... well ... your options are more widely varied. Kathryn [my girlfriend] brought some stunning beads back from Arizona ...
Sorry I can't be of more help ... but notice how I zeroed in on this post ... about beads? Sad ... don't you think?

| Mini-me makes gorgeous neclaces using freshwater pearls and semi precious stones. She has got most of her stuff from a guy on ebay called mr_bead (I think) Very fast postage from hong kong and we've never paid import tax. he is a very good communicator and the beads were really good as well |

Mary, I am the same.  I really don't have any project in mind, but I just love beads. Recently I developed a skin rash on one side of my neck, so I am not able to use any metal necklaces. This is the reason I am thinking to create some necklaces for myself by using various beads, ribbons, silver, etc.  |

i used to make beads necklace when diy accessories was rather popular or IN with my group of girl-friends. we get our supplies from the local stores.
some of the online stores doesnt ship worldwide hence its difficult to buy. and if you are buying in small quantity, it doesnt justify for the shipping charge. |

Hi Doba,
Love beads myself and still sew on the occasional one on fabric or do some earrings. If in the UK or if ever in London try the Covent Garden Bead shop on Floral Street. They do some beautiful AB swarovski beads I have used before on a purse. I suspect this stuff is much cheaper in India and I have heard of friends shipping from there. No names come to mind though! |

I used to get big lots of vintage beads on ebay for very cheap -- lots of neat pieces. also you can get big bags of broken vintage jewelry on ebay that you can take apart for the beads -- gotten amazing things that way.

| I love making jewelry with beads too. Sometimes I just like to open my bead containers and look at them. It's fun to go bead hunting when I travel. I've gotten some nice beads from e-bay. |
